Hey Now

Just heard the show played pretty much in its entirety and the Internet thing they did, and I for one just have to say artie is a hack who doesn't know the difference between a Sports Show and a Roast.

He was crude, rude, unsophisticated and out of touch with the environment he was in. He showed his true colors hacky blue. Very little of what he said was comedy, most of what he said was sarcasm and just plain vicious and mean spirited.

He was asked on the show for his alleged sports knowledge and turned it into a Friars Roast at its bluest.

If I was Joe Buck I would have picked him up by the scruff of his neck and kicked his unfunny ass to the curb.

If you listen to the shows Howard is doing his best soft shoe, trying to let clueless artie figure it out for himself and have that awakening so he can see just what an ass he was. I wish Howard had more balls and could take off his dancing shoes and just plain lay into that fat miserable excuse for a human being.

Hey Now

if I remember correctly, Joe Buck mentioned (in jest, I hope) that TMZ was his favorite website and artie said whats your second favorite, suckcock dot com or something to that effect.

Artie saved that boring show

Here's the thing: Yes, the show did seem boring. And yes, Athur Lange did add to the excitement. However, the way he did it anyone could have done.

It was unintelligent comedy from a decently witted comedian. It was, IMHO, a lazy approach in attempt to be funny.

Humor is humor and you can enjoy the unintelligent as well as the high-brow shit. You're posting on a forum devoted to a show that has fart sound effects, remember.

No, it's not something anybody could have done. The vast majority of people, if put in Artie's position on any show, would be nervous, fumble through their words, and not have witty, if any, comebacks at Buck. It's not just the jokes Artie does, but his personality. With the good comes the bad. He is the last of dying breed in an increasingly PC-world. He is acutely aware that his humor is in bad taste and he should never apologize for it.

You can't say shit these days without it sparking a public inquiry from self-righteous assholes. See also: Letterman.

Remembered another point I wanted to make that's been bugging me as Artie's been trying to sell his shitty Joe Buck appearance... he keeps going on about how boring the show was and how he had to do *something*. Yeah, well, IT'S NOT YOUR SHOW TO IMPROVE!!! Just do a normal appearance, instead he hacked it up and couldn't even tell everyone - Joe Buck, Paul Rudd, Jason Sudekis (Sedaris, hahaha), Michael Irving, etc. - was visibly uncomfortable.

Even knocks against Joe Buck and Paul Rudd reminiscing about high school annoy me. All Artie does is live in the past and yet as soon as someone else reveals their hometown connection, it's so boring to fat Artie. Listen to your own act, Artie, then you'll really know boring!

Alright, I'm off the soapbox.

He's trying to be Howard. Howard believes that the pressure is on him when he goes on Letterman. Artie wants to be like Howard, just not as gay.

Gotta come out of retirement for a comment....I'm have always been a big fan of Artie...He has a brilliant mind...particularly when he is riffing with Howard and making associations with unrelated things. Since he has become sober, he seems to have become meaner. His verbal assault on Yucko a few weeks ago was truly obnoxious...he has a house on the shore and Yucko doesn't.... he has money and Yucko doesn't??? I heard him calling into the Michael Irvin radio show ... instead of discussing the merits of his appearnce on the Joe Buck show, he just insulted the Irvin and his partner and talked over them ...seems the slightest criticism is answered with insults, cursing and, of course, fag calliing. On Joe Buck he was not remotely funny... Tellin Irvin..."you owe me...I lost a lot of fucking money on you, motherfucker"..... totally hostility without a foundation... I don't care about cursing if it's funny... I don't like it when it is ugly... Artie, in my opinion, was doing his best to out-Howard Howard doing the talk show shtick... Howard is terrible on the talk shows.. He yells and tries too hard to be outrageous... He admitted the other day he hates to play to the audience...Artie was doing the same sort of thing...Yelling and cursing in the direction of the audience.. Wonder what Howard would have said if some other commedian who is not in Howard's stable had done what Artie did on the Joe Buck show....

Oh dear, he offended poor Yucko. Honk honk, nigger jokes, honk honk!

There have always been fights on the show, but it seems Artie gets a lot of shit for fighting.

What hostility? He was busting balls. He was in a screaming match with Mad Dog but he's still able to listen to the guy's show afterward and shake his hand. You are really reading too much into this.

And yet buried so far up Howard's ass, how could we think of him as anything but.

I didn't think that Artie's tirade on Joe Buck was that bad... I mean lets be hoenst, they knew what they were expecting, and (I do beleive Artie in this respect) he was told to 'let loose' and that was him letting loose. Didn't read all the posts, but have to say Artie was hilarious on the show, simply funny as hell. Were his jokes perhaps not right for that show, (maybe) would any news outlet at all be talking about Joe Buck live without Artie's tirade on the show 100% definately NO.

But in the show got what they asked for, whether or not again the 'context of Artie' was right for the show, but who really cares... the show was boring, if it was some other show that perhaps 'ppl hated' (ie the View) then everyone would laugh how Artie got 'one over'
