I have to correct Mister sadchild. Well.....maybe I don't have to – but I will. Bring It All To Me was by Blaque (who were known as Blaque Ivory outside the United States) and *NSYNC and reached #5 on the Hot 100 and #15 on the R&B chart in January 2000. Blaque's first single, 808, was co-written by R. Kelly and reached #8 on the Hot 100 and #4 on the R&B chart in June 1999. I remember both songs.

In music, "808" refers to a pounding bass line. It's named for the Roland TR-808 electronic drum machine, which was manufactured in the early 1980s and is featured in several hits including Marvin Gaye's Sexual Healing and Whitney Houston's I Wanna Dance With Somebody. In the Blaque song, "808" refers to a different kind of pounding, if you get my meaning.

I Do peaked at #73 on the R&B chart in May 2000 but failed to make the Hot 100. The single released to radio was by Blaque. The version that included Lisa Lopes – who had signed Blaque to her production company Left Eye Productions and gotten them a recording contract with Columbia – was available on a five-track CD maxi-single.

Killer Mike
#19 "The Whole World" (w/ Outkast)
#26 "Never Scared" (w/ Bone Crusher)

We know him better as half of Run The Jewels. I don't know either of these songs but maybe fans of early 2000s rap still remember these...

I'd say he's one of those guys who's involved in so many projects, it's not really fair to only look at the ones under his solo name.

Daniel Bedingfield
#10 "Gotta Get thru This"
#15 "If You're Not the One"

8 top 40s in the UK. I don't know this guy or his 2 US top 40s though. His sister's name Natasha Bedingfield kinda rings a bell though.

With the frequency that "No One Like You" gets on classic rock radio, you'd think it was #1 for 10 weeks. But alas, no.

Scorpions HOT 100
#4 "Wind Of Change"
#25 "Rock You Like A Hurricane"
#44 "Send Me An Angel"
#64 "Still Loving You"
#65 "No One Like You"
#75 "Rhythm Of Love"

Another case for yelling "Broken Chart" (but for 1982, not the 2000s)

It is, however, their only #1 on the Rock Chart.

Scorpions ROCK CHART (TOP 5's)
#1 "No One Like You"
#2 "Wind Of Change"
#5 "Rock You Like A Hurricane"
#5 "I Can't Explain"

BTW "Wind Of Change" is certainly not a forgotten hit, confirmed:

The Scorpions' iconic video for their 1990 power ballad “Wind of Change” has officially entered the YouTube billion views club.

Played some Whatsamusic on my lunchbreak (the "name that song" game). The theme was one-hit wonders.

Gloria Gaynor
#9 Never Can Say Goodbye [1974]
#1 I Will Survive [1979]
Someone chose "I Will Survive" for the game.

Crowded House
#2 "Don't Dream It's Over"
#7 "Something So Strong"
#42 "Better Be Home Soon"
Someone chose "Don't Dream It's Over" for the game.

Here's a screenshot of the conversation that ensued (I am user "asimplecomplex", the person who chose the song is "Nickanj")

Subjectively a one-hit wonder to the guy who chose it (a #7 hit doesn't count), but I disagree!

My favorite year for music is 1958 and When is one of my favorite songs from that year. It got to #4 on the KFWB Fabulous Forty of August 2, 1958. (Domenico Modugno's Nel Blu Dipinto Di Blu was number one.) For many years, When was played as an oldie on KOLA, KRLA and KRTH. Forget Me Not reached #12 nationally but never made KFWB's Fabulous Forty. I don't think I've ever heard it. I say the Kalin Twins are a one-hit wonder. "Yes I do and I hope you hear me."

I knew I'd stumble on another "2-top-40s artist" between 1970 and 1993 as soon as I started the madness. Hopefully nobody thinks this guy woulda won (or even made it into the top16......? On this week's VJ countdown (1989):

Henry Lee Summer
#18 "Hey Baby"
#20 "I Wish I Had a Girl"

I didn't know either song back then. And I only know them these days thanks to the VJ Big 40.

We might call Henry Meeker a one-hit wonder. He had the first chart version of Take Me Out To The Ball Game. It reached #5 in October 1908. A version by Billy Murray & the Haydn Quartet went to number one in October and a version by Harvey Hindermyer reached #3 in November. That, of course, is the song people sing when they're already at the ball game.

Meeker's only other hit was Harrigan from the short-lived Broadway musical Fifty Miles From Boston. It got to #8 in September 1907. Almost everybody knows the song Take Me Out To The Ball Game but I doubt many people are familiar with Harrigan. It was written by George M. Cohan and includes the line "H-A-double-R-I-G-A-N spells Harrigan." Somebody in 1960 remembered the song. The music was used as the theme of the ABC sitcom Harrigan & Son,

I remember Wish from the day, but not the other song.
