I went to DIsney for the first time in almost 4 months which is WAYYYYY too long for me.
I did it differently this time. I went to my Aunt Kath's house on Sat after work, She's in Melbourne which is on the east coast about 2 hours from me. Even though we talk for hours every week I hadn't seen her in a really long time so it was nice to spend time with her. I slept at her place on Sat night then woke up and went to Disney.
I started at Epcot.....did Moana Journey of Water and Spaceship Earth. Journey of water is a walkthrough attraction that is classic Disney and I love it. I have accepted that I now live in a time where all new attractions have to be tied to an IP. We don't get new Spaceship Earth's or Living with the Land's anymore. That sucks but Journey of Water is such classic Epcot even with the IP tie in. It's fun and educational about water conservation while also using the Moana theme quite well.
After that I did Animal Kingdom. That park is the best THEMED park I've ever been in. It opened in 1998 before this new era of IP everything and they did such a good job. For instance the Everest ride where you escape from the Yeti is so amazing. The lore of old peoples who actually believed in Yetis and all that understood that the color red scared the Yeti. So the buildings closer to Mt. Everest have progressively more and more red paint on them as they get closer to where the Yeti lives.
Little shit like that is what made me fall in love with Disney in the first place.
My pics aren't the best, but here's the building closest to the mountain where the Yeti lives. See how it's 100% red?

And here's a building a little bit further away from the mountain that only has some red on the perimeter:

Those particulars that have nothing to do with Disney IP but have everything to do with Imagineers taking the time to study the intricate details that no average person would ever consider, make me so incredibly happy.
Also check it out. I got those Ray-Ban glasses that have cameras attached to them and I filmed the ride. So here I am in FPV on Expedition Everest:

Anyway, after the parks I drove back to Kath which is only about 75 mins away and we watched all our silly, girl reality shows together. It was really fun watching them together in person and making fun of all the dumb TLC male and female bimbos. Then we watched Gilded Age together and that was awesome too.
Overall a very fun weekend.
