Adventures In Koopland

That's what they call an EXCLUSIVE gated community.
You've got 2 bedrooms, 1 1/2 baths, and a 240 car garage.

Aren't you on the wrong side of the gate? Or is this a community protection thing for the rest of FL?

One of our nieces had an ex who went to jail. Relatives would ask where he's living, I'd say "In a gated community ".

You are all huge jerks but these posts are why I love it here.

That’s what we’re here for bud - demoralizing support.

And this:

When I redid the windows in my bedroom years ago, we had to make the window frames half as unlevel as the ceiling. They looked crooked when level. And looked crooked when level with the ceiling.

I never said it wasn't level; that's IRBS's thing. I just thought the wall behind it was sloped, because the top looks closer than the bottom. But it's probably just the wide-angle lens.
Is saying a wall is sloped not the same thing as saying something is not level? How can it be level if it is sloped?

How can it be level if it is sloped?
How can you have any pudding if you don't eat yer meat?

The wall in question is on a different axis than the furniture in front of it.

So "level" is referenced to the X axis. If there's something vertical, like a pole, it would be referenced to the Y axis. It's either straight or crooked, not level.

The wall I mentioned in Koop's place is the one in back of the TV, and it seemed to be sloped on the Z axis. If it were square with the other walls, you wouldn't call it level, you'd call it true.

Good God man.

I got a completely unexpected raise today. It's not much at all but I was expecting (and told) they would take $3/hour off my pay as rent and now they're taking $2.80 instead. Now at a minimum of 38 hours/week (what's considered full time here) that means $30.4 extra a month. And I always work way more than that.

Anyway it will help pay like half my internet bill whenever I decide to not be lazy and go get internet so I'm not complaining.

So here's a home thing specific to me that doesn't belong in that new thread some asshole started.

So the 1 downside here so far is it's kinda loud. To the north of me is a 4 lane rd and to the south of me is my prop. The road can be a bit loud even in the middle of the night so I may find a way to get extra, really heavy blinds for my window facing the rd casue all the noise comes through that.

My prop has 2 security systems. We have a bunch if cams that run 24/7 then we also have a secondary system of motion controlled cams that only run whenever off by motion when the gates are closed from 9p to 6a. Now that's not so bad but they are attached to a siren. And something as big as a raccoon can set of the motion sensors which set of the siren for like 30 secs. So far it's happened like once a night. It's not very loud in my bedroom but I can hear it and I'm used to basically complete silence at night besides a podcast or whatever running off my phone speaker. So tonight the plan is to keep my bedroom door closed when I go to bed. But this means I'll be locking Athena in my room with me. She just got used to having the run of the place 24 7 so she's not super happy abt it. I assume something as simple as closing the door is enough to drown out the siren but we'll see. And Athena will simply have to get used to it.

Another update...closing the door worked. Didn't wake up to the siren at all last night. Now there's the possibility it didn't go off but most likely it did and the door worked. I'll try again tonight.

Still gotta do something abt the window. I was thinking abt my last post at work today so I measured how far it is from my window to the street. By no means an exact measurement but if a man's stride is 1 yard my window is almost exactly 20 yards from the street.

Earbuds maybe but I'm so used to falling asleep to a podcast or long YouTube video on my phone or computer it would take some getting used to. I think I'll get used to the car noise first, just need a few more weeks.

So no internet yet...I'm actually cool with it...until yesterday when I noticed a few workers up on the cell tower right by my work. It's super cool how high up they are, hanging by wires, and also must be a painfully hot job up there but I digress.

I think the cell tower is shut down as they work on it so my cell web service has become incredibly slow. I may not post much till it's back, hopefully tom but who knows.

Please, try to survive and carry on w/o my constant, brilliant musings.

Godspeed to you all.
