Roy Orbison wrote You Got It with Tom Petty and Electric Light Orchestra co-founder Jeff Lynne, both of whom play guitar and sing backing vcocals on the song. Orbison performed the song live only one time before he died on December 6, 1988. The single was released posthumously. Here is his performance at the Antwerps Sportpaleis arena in Antwerpen, Belgium, November 19, 1988. Bruce Hornsby, Yasmin Evans, Sandra Lauer, Tanita Tikaram, Level 42, a-ha, Salt-N-Pepa, Womack & Womack, the Bangles and the Pasadenas also performed.

At noon on March 2, 1989, mellow rock KNX-FM in Los Angeles became "Oldies 93" KODJ. The final two songs played on KNX-FM, over the sound of a ticking clock, were Mike + The Mechanics' The Living Years and the Traveling Wilburys' End Of The Line. And yes, the Wilburys' song should have been a much bigger hit than it was.
