Using the word "obsession" was just an exaggeration. Yeah, he's not obsessed with it.
I do think it's odd for him to use such an offensive and despised word in two songs, but I'm pretty sure he uses no other bad words in any other songs - even not-really-that-bad-words like ass or bitch, or even whore in "Roxanne".
Maybe that word isn't as offensive across the pond? Here in the States, it's 10x worse than f*ck.
