29 good ok including bob & doug ( and Getty Lee) as well.
(10) 9. KEY LARGO - BERTIE HIGGINS
It also includes this song. I never heard it in the 80s. I first heard it on an SXM countdown and I have only heard it on SXM countdowns. I started out being indifferent to it. Now I kind of like it. But they don't play it on the 80s on 8 or on FM so the only place I hear it is in the countdowns.

Headed to bed but one post first.. Will catch up on everything tomorrow!

Comments:

  • We have a "Come to Me" and a "Baby Come to Me" this week.
  • "Baby Come to Me" had two runs. This is the first run. The song peaked at #73 on 5/8/82 and stayed on the chart for four weeks. The second run started on 10/16/82 reentering at #91. The title on the chart was tweaked slightly to "Baby, Come to Me" to match the title on the pressing. Note: Billboard started the weeks on chart tally over. The track entered the top 40 at #31 on 12/4/82. It hit number #1 after 19 weeks on 2/19/83 (23 weeks in total). The weeks on chart added the first run on 2/26/83 where it sat at number #1 for a second and final week. The last week the song was on the chart was 4/23/83 with a total number of weeks of 32.
  • "Jamming" is a jazz instrumental of the Bob Marley song and "As" is a jazz instrumental of the Stevie Wonder song.

So the bubbling under 101 is different than the chart drop 101? Bizarre.
Yep. The bubbling under is for the week in question. The chart drop was something I thought of to show the songs that were between 101 to 110 the week before, but have fallen off the chart completely. Some re-enter, but most are gone forever. I tweaked the verbiage a bit, but I'm open to suggestions as always. :)

I have flipped the Tw and Lw. My bad. Makes sense now. :)

A Taste Of Honey's I'll Try Something New is a remake of a song written by Smokey Robinson and first recorded by the Miracles. A version by the Supremes and the Temptations reached #25 on the Hot 100 and #8 on the R&B chart in April 1969. Here is the original version by the Miracles. It stalled at #39 on the Hot 100 but reached #8 on the R&B chart in June 1962. Here in Los Angeles, it got to #19 on the KFWB Fabulous Forty and #22 on the KRLA Tune-Dex.
