There's a 3D printer on campus that I've always wanted to try. I should see if I can print a couple of things before I leave.

I'm still curious what that first youtube video was that I started the thread with, and how outdated it must look now 8 years later.

I used my flip-phone to call a friend who has a Radio Shack TRS-80 computer and NetZero internet service. I asked him to find that video and fax me the link. He was unable to find it but he discovered this 2019 video of a young man wearing a Jurassic Park shirt and demonstrating the 3D printer he bought in 2012:

That's one expensive model car.

I was able to print a couple of copies of a building I designed for athletics. They are working with a donor to try to get it funded.
The printers that we have only print objects up to 5" x 5" x 5", so they aren't very awe inspiring, but it's still cool to do them.

I thought there was an old 3D Printer thread. I did some research on a basic entry level 3D printer and couple years, I did bought one an Creality Ender 3 from Amazon. I didn't get to use it much and plus I was having issues with the PLA filament heating on the table and it was coastally uneven. I simply sold it and now I want to get into it again. I still want a good entry level 3D without the table issues. Aaron or somebody recommends any?

I basically want to create small objects that is basically can be as tall a few inches.

Creality Ender 3

That's the one my son has. It's his first 3D printer. He's had it for a couple years now. He's printed dozens of things. He's made some money printing stuff for the place I work and for someone who works here.

Those are cheaper than I thought.
They make bigger prints than I expected too.

You all know and I been posting in the Wolf's Den, this is my Ender 3 V2.

We do have 3D Printing thread, last week I printed these a wolf, cat, x y z calibration cube, half body of a moose and tug boat which the roof came apart.



When the roof of the tug boat came apart and the head of the moose were all loose filament strings. I didn't realize it needed supports. Last night, I finally learned how to work with them. This is the outcome of the moose head now. It still has some lose web and stringy filaments. Once I get better all that should go away. Plus my partner niece likes moose's and I surprised her with it and she actually loves it. Now I plan I scaling these up and print bigger objects soon. Plus I have over like 20 filaments colors now. My partner wants me to print Easter eggs with all the various colors I have.
