Kate Mara was killed in the first 10 minutes. I guess she will only be shown in flashbacks going forward

The same thing happened with DTF St. Louis.

What's funny/ironic/coincidental is that the lead investigator on that show (played by Richard Jenkins) also played the patriarch on the great series Six Feet Under. And in that, he was dead before the first episode, but was heavily worked into the script.

That's crazy. And ironically Kate Mara was pushed into the train by Kevin Spacey in House of Cards. Maybe it's in their contracts that they are dead and show up in flashbacks. I hope I get to see more of her in the coming episodes if Im paying $9 $10 $12 whatever I'm paying for Apple now. Can't only just be The Snoopy Show and an inning or two of Friday night baseball

I've been watching a lot of series on Apple TV during the past year or so. There's a lot of good/great stuff.

- The Morning Show
- Lessons in Chemistry
- Ted Lasso
- Shrinking
- Severance
- Pluribus (I believe you watched that)
- The Studio
- Your Friends & Neighbors
- The Reluctant Traveler with Eugene Levy
And there's probably a half-dozen more that we haven't caught yet.

As I mentioned elsewhere, the Formula One (F1) world championship racing series is being provided in the US exclusively through Apple TV. It can also be viewed with an existing service called F1 TV, but now F1 TV must be paired with an Apple TV account in order to use it. It can no longer be seen on any US network or cable channel.

You wouldn't believe the thousands of comments on the F1 forums, about people who "refuse" to pay for Apple TV, or who will subscribe, but refuse to watch anything on Apple TV "on principle". It's like, dude, some of the most popular shows on TV are on Apple. Take advantage of that. For me, I was happy to hear that Apple TV - a streaming service I already pay for and use - was hosting F1.

We’ve been watching Young Sherlock Holmes.
It‘s not too shabby.
Just enough twists to keep you guessing, and a bit of a different take on the characters.

Last night, I watched the Oscar-winning film One Battle After Another, and overall, I thought it was pretty good. The movie starts off strong, with some really great action sequences that immediately pull you in and set the tone. However, once the characters go into hiding especially Leo’s character the pacing slows down quite a bit. From that point on, the storyline felt less engaging and more drawn out, though it was still decent enough to hold my attention.


I can definitely see why Sean Penn won Best Supporting Actor. His performance stood out and added a lot of depth to the film, even during the slower moments.

That said, I watched Sinners a while ago, and personally, I thought it was the stronger film. It had a more consistent pace and kept me more invested throughout. In my opinion, Sinners should have won the Oscar instead.

I can't get past the 2 hr 42 min runtime of One Battle. And even if I can get through it, the Mrs., with her ADD and frequent nodding-off, is guaranteed not to.

I thought both Sinners and One Battle were “timely” and “relevant” to things happening today and mostly entertaining.
One Battle, you're right, liked the beginning, then it went on too long, then I really liked the last 30 minutes.
Between the two, if I had to watch one a 3rd and 4th time, I’d rather watch Sinners.

Train Dreams was my favorite nominated film, just a bit lightweight to win Best Picture. I ended up “voting” if I had a vote for Hamnet.

More than half of those names are primarily TV-first or people from the music industry. They also prioritize including members of the film academy first.
Bridget Bardot should have been included except her post acting career included her making some controversial remarks.

I've watched hundreds, maybe even 1000+ hours of Whose Line Is It Anyway, and really enjoy it. I've gotten to the point where it's hard to find clips with material I haven't already seen - both the original Drew Carey run and the second run with Aisha Tyler.

Well, YouTube's algorithm FINALLY figured out I like the show, and a couple weeks ago showed me this, and I love it!!

Clive Anderson hosted Whose Line Is It Anyway? on BBC Television Channel 4 from 1989 to 1998. During the series' final year, Ryan Stiles, one of the regular performers (along with Colin Mochrie, Greg Proops, Wayne Brady, Josie Lawrence, Tony Slattery, Mike McShane and many others), told his friend Drew Carey about the show. Carey went to ABC and proposed hosting an American version of Whose Line. A fine idea!

Just watched the latest episodes of DTF St. Louis and Rooster. Not giving anything or basically much.

After hosting our grandkids all week, and getting them to the airport early on Sunday, Mrs. Scotch was wiped out by 9 pm. So we didn't watch DTF together. But I actually watched it myself, and tonight I'll act all surprised when we watch it on HBO Max. It was definitely interesting. I did not stay up for Rooster, though. We'll probably watch that tonight too.

What we did watch together, is the episode of The Studio where Matt (Seth Rogen) was hoping for a shout-out at the Golden Globes. He promised his mom (on the phone) he would be mentioned. His mom's voice sounded so familiar. I looked it up, she's played by Rhea Perlman. It was a hilarious episode. His subordinate, Sal (played by Ike Barinholtz) got all the shout-outs.

Disney today released a new preview of the live-action/CGI remake of the animated film Moana. The movie stars Catherine Lagaʻaia as Moana and Dwayne Johnson as the demigod Maui. Johnson voiced Maui in the 2016 animated film and its 2024 sequel. Moana opens in theaters on July 10, 2026.
