For my monthly visit to Gov. Nelson State Park, the walking paths in the beach area were closed for re paving. As were the walking path of the Isle. I had to take my photo of the lake by the pier. Then listened to the waves crashing the shore like I was in a poem. The paths should be done next month so I shall return one day.

I had a really nice time at the Grand Opening of the new Bakery this morning. I went twice. I went at 8am alone and waited an hour and half but got my chocolate croissant (tasted incredible) and a chocolate chip cookie. While I was waiting in line, the local newsletter reporter interviewed me and I made the website. Then I went back with my wife at 10:30am, she couldn't go at 8am because she had a city meeting, but she still wanted to see the place. She was one customer away from getting the last treat available (a pretzel). But the Baker Bri agreed to take a picture with us. She was so sweet talking to us. Her new place used to be my dry cleaners but since I don't need dress shirts cleaned anymore, this is much better.

Post the link for us.

Also how is this a 2025 memory?

Here's the link JHDK, Thanks for asking

I posted here as a follow up to follow up about standing in line between two babies last year waiting for my chocolate croissant, to your OP
Let's talk about our most memorable parts of 2025 (good or bad) and any hopes for 2026.

Also in between my two visits, I headed down a few blocks over to the library to see if they had the Project Hail Mary book from your Andy Weir post in the Books thread. I'm watching your video on my TV. Unfortunately, the library didn't have it.

"I am Larry" of course makes me think of this 2012 Seattle Mariners commercial with Félix Hernández becoming "Larry Bernández."

The Lions Club is holding an Easter Egg Hunt at our park just down the block on Saturday. They did it for the first time last year which reminded me of when my wife would hold Easter Eggs Hunts at that park and I would help her. We would invite everyone in the three-block radius of our neighborhood and some of her friends. The little girl next to us wanted one and would help and our kitty corner neighbor would do face painting. My wife has an Easter Bunny costume, and she would get someone to wear it. She would also put prize tickets in some of the eggs and the kids could choose from her vast number of trinkets and trading cards she has in the basement. My favorite was the plastic red heart we would hide with the other eggs, and I saw this little boy dash to it as soon as my wife said "go".
One year it was so cold we had it in our house; we did a 10 or 15 egg draw anywhere from 9am-2pm.

And the year we had that virus (2020), she posted on Facebook and rented a black convertible and dressed as the Easter Bunny, she had a police officer escort behind us, and we had a mini parade for the homes, apartments and the YMCA in our neighborhood association. We drove around for an hour, and I would announce the Easter Bunny down each street. Everyone was into to it especially the kids were trapped inside their homes. Then she stayed in her outfit, and we drove the car downtown and she waved to the other cars and anyone that was out.

The years after the virus we just ran out of time and energy to do anything, so we just stopped. I'm happy that the Lions Club has picked up the hunt at the park now, but it may be a bit nippy this time
