No, they are closing Mason Park before they open LaCenterra. From the 21st to the 1st there will be no Drafthouse movies here. To ward off withdrawals, Robert will take Graveyard Shift to a brewery one Friday, then a public park the next Friday.
Memegirl and I saw "True Grit" tonight at the Drafthouse. It was a good Father's Day movie.
It's full of casual racism. Dennis Hopper plays a minor bad guy. One month after "True Grit" was released, Hopper's "Easy Rider" came out. It cost a fraction of "True Grit"'s budget and made twice as much money.

Tonight I saw a film I can't reveal the name of. Sworn to secrecy. The whole Meme family saw it and loved it.
Then I stayed late for the very last showing at the Alamo Drafthouse Mason Park. It was Paul Schrader's "First Reformed", a very dark meditation on faith, despair and vigilantism. I enjoyed it, and it was a fitting end to this great theater.

Who would actually watch this? Wasn't Rosanne the only funny one? The rest are B-level sitcom actors.
Myself I didn't watch either version of the original and am even less likely to watch this.
John Goodman and Laurie Metcalf are not B-level sitcom actors. They were slumming.
I will watch an episode to see what they do with it.
I might be interested in watching the pilot, but I'll probably pass as well.
I think Sara Gilbert is a big as John Goodman, maybe not Laurie Metcalf. The only time she appears on TV is on the Big Bang Theory and was in the film Lady Bird. She also does voice-over work in some Disney Pixar movies.

Last night I saw "Lair of the White Worm", a Ken Russell horror freak out with Hugh Grant and crucifixions and big white worms. It was a lot of fun.
I saw it outdoors, at a small brew pub (City Acre) with some delicious food and beers. It was fun to see a woman licking a bloody phallus in a suburban neighborhood with cars whizzing down the freeway.

I saw Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom over the weekend and it sucked! I will see Ant-Man & The Wasp this weekend.
