This segment from Bubba the Love Sponge is eye-opening. He talks departure of Manson, Spice and the various cast members.
At one point, Manson was being paid a BASE salary of $600,000 which was far above what any other sidekick in radio was making.
Manson previously said he thought he was going to be fired. Bubba now says that he (BTLS) only needed the car back and was going to tell him to dial down the "Bubba sucks" bits.
Yes, the stuff with Manson leaving the studio during the bits with girls was true...even if it was just Hooters girls mentioning their wing delivery, he'd duck out to honor his marriage. That was the deal from the day he was hired until the day he left and it would have continued to be the deal.
It would have been interesting to see how long they kept Ned going. In this video, Bubba sort of hinted it was worn out. It wasn't mentioned, but I wonder if Ned known to Donna (Manson's wife) as a "work." They got sloppy with it towards the end, but once the Hogan case was in court, that was basically the end. (Bubba, under oath, didn't mention Ned as being a cast member.)
If Donna assumed Ned to be real, then I wonder if Ned was a way for Manson to talk dirty about women and sex without getting in trouble with Donna.
