Because most of his listeners tuned-in on their drive to work. On-demand only became available recently online, it's not available on satellite.

Yeah... if he went to afternoons in 1/2006, it would have been a purely personal move. Even with the 24/7 repeats, listening to a show the next morning is kind of stale.

...and I'm not sure how satellite radios could do on-demand.

Robin reported a story from the Post on how Trump told porn star Victoria Zdrok that he could not marry a certain actress because she was half black. What Robin did not report was that the source of the story was Chaunce Hayden, a natural born liar who used to portray himself as an expert on Howard. Over and over he would lie about what someone said about Howard. A woman who really likes — or liked — Donald Trump | Page Six

I disagreed with Howard's assessment then in 2006 and now. A 6 A.M. start time wasn't needed. It's intuitive to air the show 24/7 on Howard 100. I think it took them less than a year to figure that part out. Once that was done, start time is irrelevant except for the callers.

Would it hurt "normal" callers? Maybe, but I would bet a new set of "normal" callers would become available later in the day. Wack Packers? Quite frankly in regards to the Wack Pack lifestyle, later is better for them too.

I think they only cling to the 6am to get people hooked on live content before they get to work, with hopes that they don't forget about the show, or talk about it at the water cooler.

All the stuff to pull from and Wednesday's "off because AGT" show has a ton of stuff from 2014.

:(

They're lazy, but I also wonder if this is the "off the show, so we forget about them" mindset. They could go deep and play stuff from the Jackie or *gasp* Billy era...but I suppose this is also PC Howard. No way on Earth we'd hear something like racist Marge Schott or Jackie spanking someone when we can get tapes of Howard playing NIN's Hurt and talking about painting.

New Howard is like Top-40 FM...all the hits, totally sanitized.

Old Howard is like internet radio...as deep as you want to go, totally uncensored.

If top-40 FM included raunchy, explicit sex talk, porn audio, and frequent profanity.

Frequent profanity, perhaps...but don't forget all the talk about AGT and Beth saving kittens.

Speaking of that, one of the bits recently replayed was the Beth interview by JD. :( All the great stuff to replay in newly-edited form and that gets played.

Benjy interviewed Beth. I think a J.D. interview with her would actually be fun to hear.

This morning I caught a replay of someone making a gift to the NSAL.

jd by himself is not that fun. remember when he did that hour long show where he interviewed directors? it wasnt funny or insightful. jd needs howard and fred constantly busting his balls to make him funny.

True, but they ultimately did that with Benjy. They start making snide comments in a whisper, scold each other for not letting the interviewer do his thing, and then break it all up with mocking jokes.

When Howard goes on vacation, we all know they play random clips under various show titles...except for the now-rare occasion when they do Mastertape Theater. I think he's ruined me in this way...because, when a Conan, Jimmy, or any one of those guys goes on vacation, they play an old show in its entirety.

I wonder how they do that...do the PR firms of the guests pay more? Do they old shows based on ratings when they aired live?

Either way, there's always the monologue, then a comedy sketch, then 1-2 guest interviews, then the band or comedian. I'd like to see one of these guys do at least one show of nothing but the comedy sketches.

I can picture Fallon doing that. Especially with Loren producing The Tonight Show. He already does a lot of the best of type shows with SNL specials and DVD's.

But even when SNL is off, they play old ones. The specials seem to be quite rare.

And why isn't SNL year-round like every other late night show? Did they ever give an answer on that? Did anyone ever ask?
