One of the summer pieces we're playing in the community band is the entire overture from The Empire Strikes Back, which includes The Imperial March (Darth Vader's Theme). I pulled up the original on YouTube from the soundtrack, to see how the orchestration was adapted for band. The video includes clips from the movie, and it begins with this disclaimer:

Does anyone else see the irony in airing this story on our local news channel?
Let me know if any of you have tried these. I haven't, but I've seen the ads, and it doesn't interest me in the least.
First of all, they turn the product into this endearing character; except that it gives me the mental image that the sandwich will taste like foam. Then there's the matter of the perforated edge. Isn't that similar to a crust?
Finally, there's the preparation. "Keep Uncrustables sandwiches frozen until ready to eat. Thaw 30 to 60 minutes at room temperature. Enjoy our classic crimped sandwiches within 8 to 10 hours of thawing for best flavor. We do not recommend preparing Uncrustables sandwiches in the toaster or air fryer or in the microwave."
So I guess you can pack them to go, but they're not very useful to eat at home, unless you planned your day around them. Is this really an improvement on the PB & J sandwich? Has anyone been asking for one?

I think it's for busy parents with kids who say 'cut off the crust'. Voila! An already made PB&J with no crusts. Now don't miss the bus!

That’s precisely what it’s for. I did buy a box to try some. I mean not bad but I’d rather make a pb&j if that’s the choice.

I'm good with a PB&J from time to time, but those don't look appetizing.
There was that and some other similar product out when I was a kid.
I can't remember the name, but it's the same novelty kind of a deal.

I could probably find a homemade recipe for both of those and make a darn good soup or chili. But the can version is not that tempting.

In 2003, Teri and I toured the Jelly Belly factory/museum/candy store in Fairfield, California. My favorite Jelly Belly flavors are watermelon and cantaloupe. Teri liked the buttered popcorn flavor. There are many flavors I can't imagine anyone liking. Barf? Toothpaste? Dead fish? Skunk spray? Rotten egg? I feel sick just thinking about it.
