It's that time of the year to turn the clock back an hour: Starting at 2 a.m. on Nov. 4, daylight saving time ends and clocks go back one hour.

That's the difference between mountains and plains or deserts.

Yeah, we have these mountains off to the west that obscure the sun pretty good. So it makes sunset come a little quicker than it would in a place where there are none.

Phoenix is also surrounded by mountains, they might not quite tall near you, probably an average of 2,000 feet elevation. This picture I took on top of South Mountain, with an old Indian style house in the front and Phoenix in the background with some mountains.
