I wouldn't mind if battery life was better, but I always make it thru the day just fine...

My phone can last threw the entire day without a charge, as long I don't touch any major apps. I love my new 4S, but my 3GS battery life lasted longer, so they need to get this issue fixed now!

I made it from Thursday afternoon till about 11PM last night before it shut itself down. Today I made it from 8:00AM till now with 80% left.

For me, it seems to use more when I am at work where I have 1-2 bars of reception. I think weaker reception makes it use more battery although I am just guessing.

No need to guess; that's true. Amplifying radio waves requires energy.

A lot of these reports sound like they've changed the way battery status is calibrated and/or displayed. I suggest letting them run down if you can.

This is a personal opinion, but I think with the recent added features and having them enabled, the iPhone's days of having primo battery is over. I think they will continue to work on tweaking it, but when you consider everything that is on by default it is no wonder the battery life takes a hit by comparison.

I noticed in the thread you mentioned your 3GS had better battery life. My son finds just the opposite, but his 3GS was well used and likely needed a new battery. I can without question tell you my iPhone 4 battery like was a bit better that the iPhone 4S.

Long as I don't have to worry about charging during the course of my day and I am able to get full use of my phone. I am not going to let that battery meter worry me. Now if I can't get through a day without charging that is a different story. Thus far I've never gotten even close to that.

In summary: you want more features, you pay for it with battery life.

My wife has no different battery life on her 3GS while my iPhone4 takes a hit almost everyday. Of course, my wife has hugely different charging habits than I do which may have something to do with it.

My 4S battery life can last long for couple of days as long, I don't play with my phone. But like for an example, I listen to SiriusXM all day at work and when I do, that drains my battery fast and but I do keep my phone charged up through out the day, so it doesn't die.

But I agree, the more features on, the more the battery life pays. That why, I turn off each app after I am done using it and I have my gps and siri turned off, so the battery can survive a bit longer through out the day.

I'm with you Wolf. When I go to bed my battery is rarely under 60% unless I am traveling (hence listening to music and playing games) or I used it for conference calls rather than my home phone. If I am using it for conference calls I generally only get 7 hours out of a charge.
