I find it hard to believe I'm the first one posting this

I can't imagine Alex Cooper's fans, whoever they are, listening to what started as satellite radio.

Then again, when Howard leaves, I can see it shifting towards "podcasting with live sports and music." There can't be that many radio shows on SiriusXM, can there be? Heck, there's gotta even fewer live radio shows exclusive to SiriusXM.

At $42million per year, the Sirius XM deal will put Cooper's earnings higher than any network television host. The only media personalities who earn more are Stern and Joe Rogan, according to Outkick.

And the first time I'd ever heard of her was about a month ago. Why TF is it called "Call Her Daddy"?

Because she wants to play. She wants to play hard. You're her's now, you're her meat, you're her possession.

I went down the rabbit hole and found this article. There's a sound clip there as well.

Oh damn. NBC Nightly News has picked up the Howard Stern absence for their Wednesday 9/3 edition.

And it was a total non-story. They talked about how he's on summer hiatus, then the tabloid story came up and now he's off for another week. They talked about how he used to be the shock jock and the show changed, becoming polarizing, etc.

None of this makes any sense. He signed a five-year contract, as the Today Show people said.

The contract hasn't expired, unless people can't do math. I really think he's just taking a few days because his cat died...or he has COVID...or both.

And as far as that "Call her daddy" business, is it just me or is it two entirely different demographics? I highly doubt people who are watching ESPN or the NFL Network are tuning in to Women's Entertainment or E!. "Call her daddy" is also a dumb name for a podcast. Are you wanting daddy to call her or are you wanting someone to refer to "her" as daddy? It'd be a GREAT name for a gay podcast between Crazy Cabbie, Richard Christy and Buck Angel. Every time I hear "call her daddy" it makes me think of that "I wanna play hard" drop.

The 5-year contract was signed in 2020. It covers 2021, 22, 23, 24, 25. According to my math, it's up at the end of this year.

Yes, the "Call Her Daddy" show has somewhat different demographics; but much of Stern's main demographic group is either dying, dead, or not technically competent enough to get SiriusXM. So, just like how terrestrial radio is no longer relevant, maintaining Stern's core audience is no longer relevant. Johnny Carson was the man for decades; but after he retired, the Tonight show (eventually) went to a new demographic.

Also, keep in mind that the 33 or 34 million Sirius subs includes people who signed-up (or got a car with it installed) years after he went to Sirius. So someone who got a new car in 2018, say, might be new to Sirius, but likely never knew of Howard. OTOH, I'm sure there are some casual Howard fans who didn't bother making the move to Sirius, and now have a Sirius-equipped car, and may tune-in. But I think the former group is much larger than the latter.

I'd much prefer that he go out on top, rather than becoming this senile old geezer like Don Imus.

Yup. The contract is up on 12/31. It's why I don't believe any talk of this absence being contract-related.

As far as the fans not being technically competent, it's my understanding that the Wack Pack (think people like Gary and Wendy) have people who take care of stuff (SiriusXM and otherwise) for them. Any habitual assistants they have can easily coach them how to use their radios. I'm sure they're not all listening via the app, but the old-school "plug and play radios" still exist. If someone was able to figure it out in 2006, it hasn't changed much.

Where are the haters that were loving the week he missed? I could see him retiring. I could also see him working a year to year deal.

And, a large chunk of this country has no idea what woke means.

You ask them to explain what woke is and what it means and it's either a laugh emoji, a "do your own research" comment or a "they want to erase/change history by destroying statues".

Walk around Germany. See how many Nazi statues you'll find. Did they erase the Holocaust by removing glorification?

The wife wants to go to Germany, and she's working on the duolingo app every night. Not sure if she knows the word. It has been repropriated in the last election in my opinion.

A friend has a Nazi flag from a family friend with blood on it. That was a trip to see.
