ok.ru - won’t have much from recent years, but basically any movie from the 1990s and further back that you want to watch is uploaded there. Not always great quality, but free and no ads, and has some real hard-to-finds.

Our family watched A Christmas Story after dinner on the TNT marathon but only watched the first showing. I was curious to find what the HBO Max app was doing for it being that TNT is associated with HBO Max. All it did was offer the movie in the Leaving Soon movie category. It was not in the Top 10 movies today. The top Holiday movie was Christmas with the Kranks at #2. Elf was #4 and Lampoon Christmas Vacation #8. One Battle After Another was #1 and #5.

We will also be watching football all day on Netflix and Amazon Prime.

My wife got a 1 month subscription to Peacock so I said lets watch Apples Never Fall. It came out in 2024 and I was interested but never enough to subscribe.
It has Annette Bening, Sam Neill, Alison Brie and Jake Lacy. We are two episodes in. Now I'm not sure if it has always been free or not but it doesn't matter now

I watched parts of the Orange and Rose Bowl during my New Years Day workout at the Y. Oregon slowly beat Texas Tech and Indiana looked incredible over Alabama. Before I went to sleep at home, I watched the highlights of all the College Playoff games on You Tube. The semifinal games look interesting and refreshing. With the exception of Indiana, all the teams have been on the scene but have not won a title at all or recently and Indiana may be the best team.
Oregon will get the rematch though.

That's funny, because we went to cancel Peacock in the fall, and it turns out we have an annual subscription that doesn't expire until February. We've been using it to catch SNL episodes.

It's 2026 and so far I still have a standalone Hulu application. I wonder when the integration with Disney Plus will happen

Hulu also has a show on its menu called Strangest Things. (Doesn't look anything like Stranger Things)

Madison, you will have to keep wondering. On December 30, the Los Angeles Times reported:

"The Walt Disney Co. is on track to fully integrate its streaming platforms Hulu and Disney+ in 2026. Hulu isn’t disappearing. Disney hasn’t set a date to retire the stand-alone app but the company is making progress on its plan to fold Hulu content into the Disney+ platform. The Burbank entertainment giant announced last summer that it was merging Hulu programming onto Disney+. Executives declined Tuesday to provide a timetable for the launch of the integrated platform.

Hulu subscribers will continue to be able to access the app well into 2026. After the launch of the combined platform, Hulu subscribers will be able to watch Hulu-branded shows, but Disney is designing the experience to entice users to upgrade to a Disney bundle. The company’s goal is for fewer subscribers to drop their plans and instead spend more time on the Disney+ app."

Yes, we are making it a Peacock January. We finished Apples Never Fall last night and liked it a lot. Now we are going to try All Her Fault. It has Dakota Fanning and the gal who think was the daughter in Succession

And I think I will try watching The Paper on my own

I would like to watch the College Football National Championship Monday Night on ESPN, but I don't subscribe. We could try having dinner at the Take Five lounge at the movie theater and just hang around. Or watch as much as I can at the YMCA until it closes then listen on my app. I don't want to impose on anybody being it is a late Monday night. It should be free on ABC instead. It sounds like a great matchup. Miami will be on their home field and there has been a little bit of a layoff since the semi-finals which could favor Miami. And Miami did beat Ohio State more soundly than Indiana. But I think most of the world thinks Indiana is the better team and will be rooting for them due to their lack of historical relevance in college football. It is quite a story what they have been doing.

OH H.....EYE OH
Walmart + $98 a year.

One of the benefits…..
Choose between a Paramount + or Peacock subscription. Both are ad-supported and come with access to original TV shows, movies and live television events.
