Saw Invictus. It was good. Every time I see a Clint Eastwood directed movie I'm surprised I like it. I just can't get over the idea that a senior citizen famous from westerns can actually be a very good director too.

Memegirl and I saw "Road Movie" tonight. 67 minutes of Russian dash cam footage. We both enjoyed it. Driving home everything looked like it was about to go bananas. I just ordered a dash cam.

Oh boy I can't wait to see that.

Almost like Ron Howard from Andy Griffith Show and Happy Days. Now he a famous director, but I still say Clint Eastwood is better.

Production design is Blade Runner hands down. The Florida Project not being up for best picture is wrong.

A Ghost Story was another of my 2017 top 5 that got no love. And it's an artsy film so I'm kinda surprised.

But then again Casey Affleck was the star and he has some sex allegations, much like James Franco who also got ignored so maybe that's why.

Now that the oscars are out maybe we could have an oscar madness bracket with each category and compare with the Academy.

Hate to be a dick, but aren't these all 2017 movies? There's a thread for that.

It's the 2018 Academy Awards. But I hear ya. I wondered about where to post stuff between the 2 thread before. I guess my thinking now is that anything that I am talking about movie related in 2018 goes in this thread even if it's from a different year.

I personally think posting in two separate threads will be annoying. We still discuss 2017 and past movies here. It a new year and all 2018 talk goes here, until 2019 comes along. Or better yet have one central discussion thread for Movies and TV Shows so there would be no more confusion.
