The Breakfast Club

For me, having to choose between Shining and Ferris was crazy. While The Shining was a great movie based on a great novel, Ferris Bueller is a brilliant, iconic comedy. Madness.

With 8 votes in and these three movies with majority of the votes all advance with no problem.

Back To the Future, Star Wars and Ferris Bueller's Day Off

and now the last match-up is all tied now, Breakfast Club vs Raiders of The Lost Ark

It all comes down to one person Koop. Which film will you choose? Breakfast Club constantly voting against that movie throughout the whole tournament! :baseballbat: or the epic hero Indiana Jones?

We were here before with some of the match-ups.
These last ones are generally troublesome to pick between.
They are all good, but for different reasons.

Also your pick will be for your own reasons. We are not the academy. I pick for rewatchability. Lots of better quality (in the academy terms) movies bit the dust.

Usually Koop is on throughout the day? I guess the Betty White and the Peanuts gang kidnap him and taped his eyelids open and watch the two films to decide the final vote either on Breakfast Club or Raiders of The Lost Ark.

Shining. Any day.

Although I loved FBDO, I never saw it as brilliant or iconic. I can watch it once, and I'm good for ten years.

I think Goonies was a better 80s film. Everyone forgot about it.

I can watch Ferris over and over. The Shining is a once in 10 years. I saw the Shining the first time earlier this year so maybe once in 50+ years (I did read the book some time ago).

The Music tournament, I did accepted nearly 40 extra bands as a wild card entry. I tried to avoid it this time, because I wanted to keep it small and simple. But I wish, I could have accepted so many extra movies, that could have been entered into this tournament.

Once this tournament is finally over, maybe we can try and rethink this and have tons of movies entered. But do it like music style were everybody was just about accepted and do a voting contest and the top 4-6 advance in each category? But I still prefer to have 64 tournament.

How about Godfather vs Idiocracy
Idiocracy was Mike Judge's follow-up to Office Space. It has some genius, very quotable concepts, and many feel it predicted the election of Trump (including Judge himself). But the movie has some holes in it, and meanders in places.

Yea that film had some issues, but I still enjoy it But I would have never nominate that movie into this tournament. Be like adding Airheads and Encino Man.

Movies are iconic if they become ingrained in the culture of a generation. Ferris Bueller is in the top tier of that. Other ones that come to mind are Rocky Horror and Caddyshack.
