And for you truckers that pull flatbed freight and have manfeet, PUT SOME SHOES ON, OR EVEN BETTER YET, SOME BOOTS! You look stupid as hell loading and unloading in flipflops!

A great big AMEN! to that one.

Shorts and flipflops? Are you working or on vacation? Seems like more and more I see women drivers who put a lot of "men" drivers to shame. God bless 'em!

As for digger.....I could do without digger but I like the camera shot.

I also like the camera shot itself, just not that silly ass cartoon.

, you dont drive anymore, right?

No...and I'll miss it sometimes too. I was actually in the process of getting my tankers and haz-mat when I got the call for an interview. Now I'm a lab tech for a carbon fiber maker.

I'm still completely blown away by it too. My first two weeks are intense training sessions (I'm off today but have a lot to study). I really got the call because I had gone to tech school for computers about 6 yrs ago and the company just had three people walk out on them right before christmas so they were in dire need.

It's an answered prayer and I'm so thankful for it. This will allow my wife the freedom to find something better for her as well.

I know what you mean, my wife drives an hour one way and her boss has become a real butthole. I told her to quit, but of course she's the grounded one of the 2 of us and wants to have another job lined up before she does.
I became spoiled being a truck driver because you could always find another job, but these days you have to be more selective. I guess thats why I stay an owner/operator, not as much of the BS as being an employee. Just more risk this way!:scared:

That's getting harder to do too though. Times are tough for everybody. Thousands of people looking to fill one of a hundred positions. It's a little easier if you're willing to move but not everybody wants to do that.

Yea thats what I meant about being more selective. Its slow as crap here, but where would I go if I left? I hate changing companies because of all the stuff that has to be done.:bigahh:

I hate changing companies

Looking for a job HAS to be the most boring, tedious BS ever. I bet in the last 3 months I've put out 30-40 resumes/applications. Not to mention the money I've spent in fuel driving around. But with more and more companies you have to go online to apply. It got to the point where I had forgotten where all I had been. I would go in to ask for an application and the lady would ask.."Weren't you here a couple of weeks ago?"

And my thought would be..."Yeah! So hire me then!"

In trucking they all tell you what you want to hear to get you leased/hired on, then when you start you get to see how things really are.

Yep. It's best to try to talk to an employee (if you can). Of course, if you've been in the business for a while you kind-of have an idea how most companies work.

Like most manufacterers/factories go through temp agencies now to avoid having to pay benefits, etc. Things like that.

There's a lot of variables in the trucking world though. I have nothing but the most respect for truckers now since I've done it. And who's to say that I won't be doing it again sometime?
