Well I found out earlier today that I'll be doing it all over again this weekend in Lubbock. My buddy was able to secure a few tickets for Saturday's Oklahoma State/Texas Tech game, so we'll be heading to out West Texas again in a couple of days. I can't imagine this upcoming game being anywhere near as exciting as last week's Texas game. But hey, you never know! Oklahoma State is a very, very solid team, so Tech had better play every bit as good as last week if they want to win.

I'm a little worried about their running attack (5th in the nation) with Kendall Hunter and Zac Robinson. Tech's defense has been gashed in the past by running QB's, like Brad Smith, Seneca Wallace, and Vince Young of course. So hopefully they keep Robinson (and Hunter) contained. Then they also have Dez Bryant and Brandon Pettigrew for Robinson to throw it to. Something a lot of people aren't aware of...Dez Bryant originally committed to Texas Tech. Now could you imagine Bryant AND Crabtree on the same team? Wow, too bad he went to Okie State.

Should be another great game in Lubbock that I will be fortunate enough to attend. Hopefully they come out with another victory and keep that national title hope alive!

You'll be seeing a lot of people "getting their guns up" at the game...both Tech and Ok State do it.

WRECK 'EM TECH!!!

Isn't LSU-Alabama this weekend?...

Yup, I'm glad that one is on during the afternoon so I can see it before going to the Tech game. I'm sure LSU would prefer it be at night though. LSU's all-time record at Tiger Stadium at night is 208-59. During the day, the record is 21-23. They much prefer playing under the lights in Baton Rouge.

I expect 'Bama to win that game big...LSU has no defense. And their QB situation is shaky at best with the freshman Lee playing. Saban, going back to his former home, will have the Tide ready to play.

Ball State and Northern Illinois about to kick off on ESPN2. Interesting game...I haven't been able to see Nate Davis and Ball State play yet this year. NIU might give them their first loss.

Too bad that TCU/Utah game tomorrow night is only on that CBS College Sports channel. I won't be able to see it :bigcry:

I hope you're wrong with your prediction, but I've got a sinking feeling about this one. Can't win with a terrible defense and an inexperienced QB.

You darn right I'd prefer this one be at night. That is when we win!
Nothing like Tiger Stadium at night.

Hey, nothing to be ashamed about if you lose to the number 1 team. Plus, you just won the national championship! I've been hearing a lot of LSU people questioning Les Miles' future...calm down crazy people! You can't win it all every year.

Tiger Stadium is huge. Do you ever go to games, Aaron? Not quite up there with The Big House (110,000), but 92,000 is impressive. Jones Stadium at Tech (52,000) seems tiny compared to it..but still, it's the 39th largest stadium in the nation (5th in Big XII). Better than average by far.

I rarely go to LSU games nowadays... having a kid will do that. ;)
Been to tons of games over the years, My parents had season tickets in the 1980's, then I spent 4 years at LSU, graduating in 1998, had season tickets for a few years earlier this decade. :)

About Les Miles, he just seems like one of those guys that will never get his due. All he's done at LSU is go 39-7 and win one national championship! I think he's great.
His critics will say he won with Saban's recruits, but they forget to mention that he was one year further removed from Saban, than Urban Meyer at Florida was from his predecessor Ron Zook, when he won the BCS. And he consistently has turned in Top 10 recruiting classes. I'd say this is a rebuilding year for us, could have been better had Perilloux stayed out of trouble.

Very cool. I actually applied to LSU out of high school and was accepted, but decided to stay in-state. Had a few friends that went there though. Apparently they like to party in Baton Rouge!

That's a good point you make about Miles and Urban Meyer...I guess I didn't realize that. And Perriloux being a knuckle-head really hurt their chances this season. The offense would have been so much more dynamic with him behind center.

As good a coach as Miles is, I wonder if Oklahoma State would want him back if they had the choice? Probably not...Gundy has them looking pretty good.

Going back to last season, that West Virginia/Pitt game at the end of the year really changed a lot of things around college football. You have to think if WVA wins that game, they're in the title game, and Rich Rod doesn't go to Michigan. On the other hand, LSU is left out of the title game, and Les Miles probably ends up leaving LSU for Michigan.

I'm looking forward to Nebraska getting some revenge on KU this week. We may not win, but they are gonna wish they never got on that bus to Memorial stadium.

I heard this game is available via pay-per-view only...that's too bad. Apparently Versus picked up the Iowa State/Colorado game over KU/Neb, don't quite understand that.

I don't get it either. I would think the Nebraska/Kansas game would draw more interest and be more interesting. I hate shelling out 30 bucks for the game, but I guess I will.

LSU put up a great fight, but in the end, Alabama won...:)

I don't see Alabama beating Florida in the SCE Championship Game...

Florida is playing the best football in the SEC right now, no question.

LSU vs Alabama: What a difference a QB makes, Alabama has one, LSU doesn't. :(

I listened to part of the game on the radio. I thought I heard that LSU's Quarterback is a freshman. If that's true than you have nothing to worry about. I bet he wins the Heisman next year...:)

Avuncular, You've obviously got two of the best players in the country at Texas Tech, Graham Harrell and Michael Crabtree. In your opinion, can either one win this year's Heisman, or will that be nearly impossible since they may split some votes away from the other one?

He will be much improved next year. The question will be if he can hang on to the job.
We've got commitments from two blue chip QB's, including one from Avuncular's part of the world, Houston... Russell Shepard from Cypress Ridge. The way Les Miles has been recruiting, this program should be fine for years to come! :)
