Have a SL2 unit which i enjoy greatly. Have a family member with Xm account and am thinking about getting him a XMp3 unit. I don't know anything about XM units and need some information. Is this unit similar to the SL2 in that if you want to use it for a base unit at home one would need to purchase the seperate home docking unit? i would imagine he would want to use it as both a portable unit but also run it through a home stereo or radio for home listening. Any input appreciated.

The XMP3 comes with a home kit which is very convenient! Here are a few stats for you:

XM2go® Music Manager feature schedules recordings up to 75 hours
Over 170 channels of music, sports, news, talk, entertainment and exclusive content
Record XM programming 3 ways: automatic, scheduled, 1-touch–record up to 5 channels at once
Listen to a personal music collection (MP3/WMA files) with microSD™ card slot
Compatible with standard or high capacity microSD™ cards
Set up to 99 favorite channels and record up to 100 hours of XM
TuneSelect feature alerts users when certain songs are on-air
XM programming guide features alerts when 'the best' is playing or schedule to record it
Pause, rewind and replay up to 30 minutes of live XM
Create and modify playlists of personal MP3 collection or XM recordings
Bookmark and purchase songs from compatible online music services including Napster
Purchase and listen to audio books from Audible.com
GameSelect feature alerts users when certain sports events or teams are on-air
Info extras feature keeps track of selected sports scores and stocks

As you can see it has alot of the same functions an SL2 has. If you have any other questions you can call me at 773-772-4340 or here is a link to the product on our site:

Since this unit is new there is a case available but I wouldn't suggest using it for intense workouts. Give it a small amount of time though and you should see some new ones come out on the market. We do not carry any currently that fit the XMP3.

The XMP3 unlike the Stiletto 2 comes bundled with a Home Kit. I love my XMP3. It won't come with Antenna Heaphones though, which aren't always necessary.

Right now we are including a free leather portfolio case with the unit.
XMP3 XM Portable Satellite Radio.
Also because of XM's repeater network dropouts would be rare so antenna headphones won't be necessary especially if you live in or near a major city.

There is a case coming out for it. Its on Backorder now and it's about $40 which is kinda steep. Yikes. Plus it's nothing special :(
Hopefully the XMp3 is built as strong as the INNO . My Inno has hit the ground MANY times and no problems other than cosmetic which I really don't care about, the radio STILL works perfectly and still looks good.

Sold my SL2 on eBay Wednesday, bought my XMp3 from TSS Friday.
They threw in a leather case with the unit (but apparently it's "nothing special" anyways). ;)
