Yes that's how it connects. The Skydock hardware pulls the signal but it needs something to tell it what to tune into. That's what the iOS SiriusXM Skydock app does (not to be confused with the SiriusXM Internet Radio app.)

My buddy had no problems with his 64GB iPhone 4S that is till he loaded iOS 6 on it. (Since he does app developing) Mind you that's a beta OS but yeah. I'm thinking some sort of framework may have changed in iOS 6.

The iPhone5 will have a brand new connector/dock so the skydock is as good as useless IMHO. It was a nice idea but I think they went with the Android/Lynx route and the iPhone internet app.

Not entirely true. Rumor has it that Apple will pack in a special pass thru adapter that will allow it to fit current docks. Apple would be stupid to not do that. If they don't I'm sure an accessory maker will.

Perhaps but I have a speaker set which allows to put the phone in it to charge and play music but even the case makes it not fit (it has an aux in via headphones so it still works) so although there may be an adapter, docks may have issues.

I'm not going to upgrade my Iphone anytime soon as the accessories are going to drop in price something fierce and I'm going to benefit.

I'll take the chance.

Rumors are the dock adapter will be shaped the same as the phone width. All it would do is extend the length if that's the case.

If the rumors are true on the phone design it will be like the 4 and 4S just taller for a bigger screen.

The skydock is great. I wish it was air play compatible. When i use it in my f-150 it gets confused whether to play sound through bluetooth or the dock connector. Its great having a device in the car that charges the phone while playing. The great thing is you aren't limited to sxm programming. You can play anything you want through your skydock.

I am late to the party but have two Skydocks (one for me and one for the wife) and have enjoyed them so far. I use the Tom Tom app with traffic on my phone so it is helpful to have everything being run through it.

Bluetooth wise I haven't had issues where my phone connects to it but the Skydock plays through the stereo with ease. Love the ability to mute the music when a call comes through.

Only complaint I have and it is minor is when multitasking, the app has to load up again so it takes a few seconds for favorites and song data to come up.
