Is Gears of War 2 a good gift for a young man? What about a female college student?

If the female student loves blood and gore, then go for it. As for the young man, how young are you talking? The game is Rated M for age 17 and up, but if you feel he's mature enough and knows the difference between real and make believe, then you shouldn't have a problem.
