WTF does Benjy contribute to the show??

Everytime I hear Benjy on the wrap-up show, he's just not funny. In fact, his jokes are annoying. I'm wondering if Benjy is part of the reason that the Stern show has gotten really dumbed down over the last 10 years. The guy is an obnoxious schtick whore.

All he does is moronic schtick. He's annoying. I always just assume that Howard is doing an "act" when he's annoyed with Benjy, but when he's left on his own during the Wrap up Show, he's nothing but annoying.

u can tell what benjy does whenever they're talking and all of a sudden howard drops a one-liner in mid conversation. you can pretty much guess that those one-liners are all the work of benjy.

I would love it if someone would do that and then call the show and give out the address on the air. Benjy would freak the fuck out. I really can't stand the guy. He sucks on TWUS.

I think it was Gary who said it on TWUS that a lot of times Benji wants to be Andy Kaufman like and thats what he's going for with his stories and what not.
Personally I find Benji to be funny at times and in small doses. He's no Andy Kaufman though.

He helps make Howard funnier than he really is. However, that Howard needs a writer isn't a bad thing. Jay Leno needed 50 writers to make him funny.

I think that Benjy's strong suit is throwing in the call backs for Howard. Howard can't remember anything, so anytime he references a phrase or a story from earlier in the week or even earlier in the morning, methinks it is the work of the silent fat man.

Back in the day, Howard would have a pun-liner that would have been written by Jackie. Howard stopped using wordplay and old jokes when Jackie left the show.

I think Howard spends a lot of his day reading what Benjy writes. That's why he's so tired by the end of the day, he's clearly had enough.

Hearing how unfunny he is on the wrap up show, it just makes me wonder how much funny material he's contributing during the actual show.

In a rare behind the scenes moment it was revealed that Benjy was responsible for the "part the hairs" line that Howard used when he was doing the impression of his parents having sex.

For that alone he deserves priase.
