This is the channel I want to listen to when I want a headache, which is never. I just don't get it.

My opinion of this channel is exactly the same as "BPM", so I'll just copy+paste:

Sometimes I had to tune to a different channel, but for the most part it was listenable. It'll make the preset along with the other channels that I tune to when I feel like to something 'different'.

I will add to that by saying it's more 'listenable' than the BPM channel

I give it 3.5 stars, but since you can't do 1/2 stars; I'm rounding it down to *** [Average].

Definitely not my favorite genre. I usually can't get passed one song. It could be a brilliantly programmed channel for all I know. I just can't get into it long enough to find out.

I like to stop by every once in a while, especially for Groove Radio International. Not my favorite channel, but it is okay. I'll have to defer to the Electronica experts though on the actual quality of the music.

This whole "Area" name thing is strange though. I guess they always tried to play off the whole "Area 51" thing. But whenever they needed to shuffle the channels they would just call it "Area + the new channel number". With the XM merge they all together dropped the number since I guess the XM-side is different, so now it is just "Area", which is weird-sounding.

Area still only ranks an average for me. I can tune in for a maybe 2 or 3 hours, maybe twice a week, but that''s about it for me.

I've been on my soap dish a hundred times before, but Area doesn't hold a candle to Boombox for me. The Boombox show is too short and at a tough time slot for me to tune in.

I'll give Area a 3.

Used to listen daily bac when it was Area33 and such. Since the dance channels have be cut more in the merger, it seems Area is taking on more dance stuff and getting to broad of a channel. I still agree the mix shows are still top notch and I would like to hear these more often. Overall, it's one of the few places to get this music on radio, even though it could improve.
4 stars.

Automatic Static and Groove Radio International are the only things I really enjoy on this channel.

For some reason, to me at least, the song selection for the station when listening to it seems to drone on.

Damn I miss Boombox.

I see the merit in this music, especially if you're in the right setting to enjoy it, but overall it's just not my thing. Won't become a preset for me.

I tuned in while driving in Denver rush hour traffic yesterday, I felt like I should of been on a crotch rocket, weaving through traffic and fighting bad guys and waiting for Neo to come swooping in to save me. I'm not a fan of the genre, but I didn't feel a real dislike for it either. 3 stars.

Between the two dance channels we've done so far, I like this one more. bpm is great, but I think I like this channel more...:D

Like I said during my review of bpm, I'm not really into dance music, but it's nice to listen to every once in a while. I like the more popular music more than the dance mixes. Dance mixes are great, but this seems to be more music the way the artists intended it to be heard, not interpreted by a DJ...

5 out of 5 Stars...

Neither Area or BPM do much to skim over more than the basest surface of pop EDM.
It's all epic trance and prog house fluff, which is disappointing since there is so much more going on in electronic music.

You have Icey, but no breaks aside from that
no drum and bass
no dubstep
no hard, dark techno
no aphex, boards of canada, squarepusher, bvenetian snares, amon tobin ect braindance.
