So..... Who's taking home the hardware after Homestead? We all have our idea on who's going to win this Chase thing. It sure is a good crop of drivers this year but someone also has to finish last. Out of the 12 drivers eligible for the championship, who's going to finish 12th?

Mark Martin
Tony Stewart
Jimmie Johnson
Denny Hamlin
Kasey Kahne
Jeff Gordon
Kurt Busch
Brian Vickers
Carl Edwards
Ryan Newman
Juan Montoya
Greg Biffle

The Man - Tony Stewart - I think it will be a dogfight between Tony & Jimmie going into that last race @ Homestead. Tony will prevail becoming the first owner/driver since Allen Kulwicki to win the championship.

The Loser - Kurt Busch - I think the pending departure of his crew chief will become a distraction causing friction between the two. I wouldn't be surprised to see Pat Tryson out of that position before the end of the season.

I think if it becomes clear that the team isn't going to win it, then I suspect Pat will be gone. That's how I would do it.

The title will be out of Stewart, Gordon and Johnson. With Stewart winning. Johnson is ALWAYS good in the chase and the 24 ran well and almost all the upocoming tracks the first time around this season.

The biggest losers? Vickers and like already mentioned Busch. Unless they can get through the first 2 races decently. If not things will get worse between him and Tryson real fast.

This was the exact point i was trying to make in the thread i started, if that team gets off to a bad start in the chase things could go south in a hurry. With all the distractions i see this NOT ending well at all. As far as my pick for the championship i think it will either be Tony or Jeff as for the 12th place finisher either JPM or Kurt Busch.

If not Mark, then I guess I'd like to see a first timer get it. Too many good stories to come out of it so it's hard to decide.

Frankly, in my heart I'm sick of a Hendrick car taking it... only thing is I like Gordon, Tony, and Mark.

It would be cool to see Toyota get it. Of course, knowing nascar, they'd probably do all sorts of testing on Vickers car to try to find something. ;)
