but one thing Booey seems to forget is that every once in a while, a guest they thought might suck turns out to be a gem.

i don't get booey sometimes...This morning he was fighting to have Martha stewart on again, rather than someone new like Bobby Flay.

Me, I'll take a flay interview over martha anyday...At least I would like to see how flay would be, if he sucks, oh well. I have already heard martha.

I think some of it is laziness. Its easier to book guests that have done the show before. You know their people, you don't have to do as much research, etc. Its an attitude that is indicative of the show in general.

Is Bobby Flay doing a promotional tour? Is Bourdain hawking something on the circuit? They don't solicit guests, they get offered people by publicists... Were these guys offered?

You don't want Martha, but you want some other guys to talk about cooking? Ok... not that there's anything wrong with that...

I can't really see where Bobby Flay would be a good guest, and I watch the Food Network probably as much as I listen to Howard. Fact is, Bobby's great in his shows and his stuff is pretty good, but he's pretty boring when he's not talking about food. Watch his Chefography segment and you'll see. Not too many scandals in his life and he's pretty charmed when it comes to success. His hot wife could be a topic, but I thought talking about hot wives is boring? ;)

Now a person I'd love Howard to interview would be Rachel Ray, but that ain't happening. Howard grilling her about her wacky marriage would be classic, but she'd never appear on his show.

I think they said he is getting his own show on siriusxm to promote. Not sure if he was offered or not, it was booeys "the guy is so normal he has nothing to offer" How would booey know at all? How is Martha so "not" normal as he says?

Yes, I would rather hear about Flay, than Martha using a vibrator. Again.

Once again, it was how booey blew him off as being a terrible guest, but Martha would be so good.

As I said above, I watch a shitload of Food Network, I like Bobby Flay's shows, but my take on him is pretty spot on with Gary's. He's a pretty normal guy without anything really interesting going on outside of the restaurants. He's got a hot wife, but how much of that can you do without seeming cliche? Compared to Martha, who's been through a horrible childhood, divorce, has a self-made empire she's been accused of running like a bitch on wheels, and spent time in a women's prison? Flay is positively tame compared to Martha.

Seems like a fitting channel:
