Does the SL2 use a standard battery or is it custom? I need a new one.
The remote uses a standard CR2032 battery. As for the SL2 unit itself, it uses a custom made battery which isn't available yet (and, who knows, might never be?...).

SIRIUS is getting us a small batch of SL2 batteries specifically for people who busted their batteries or lost them. But those are just to swap out. But in a couple months we will be selling Replacement SL2 batteries.
As for remote batteries the majority of SIRIUS Radios use either a CR2025 or CR2032 battery. Allanon is right about the SL2 using the CR2032.
By any chance does TSS stock these or am I better off going to a battery place?

The CR2032 is used in many small electronic items. Any drug store or bicycle shop should stock them.
Maybe I am missing the joke but why would a bicycle shop sell them?
They might be used in trip computers.
