I meant to post about this last week when I first heard it but it pissed me off so much that I forgot about it... WHY THE HELL is Alt Nation playing fucking TECHNO on Friday nights? Excuse my language, but this makes me extremely mad... it's an ALTERNATIVE ROCK STATION (not even a well programmed one at that, but that's for a different topic). ALT ROCK =/= TECHNO.I do NOT like dance music. This NEVER happened before the channel merger... can someone PLEASE tell me what's up?

It's the misguided attempt at playing some of the content that used to be on Boombox.
I only heard about 5 minutes of it the other day, but I agree with you that it shouldn't be on Alt Nation.
My understanding is that it's supposed to be the electronic / techno side of todays alt scene. It really needs to be back on Area where the other electronic stuff is being played. They are crossing their genre's for sure. I like the techno, andvI listen to Alt Nation for 4 or 5 hours a day, but I like to be able to switch when I feel like it. I still miss Boombox.

Ahh, ok. They deleted a channel and shoved its content on a channel it doesn't belong on. The big reason it bugs me is my XMp3 is recording to its auto record memory like it's regular old alt nation, and I can't delete it until it gets cycled out, so now if I want to be guaranteed to have alternative in places that i don't have signal I have to set up scheduled recordings overnight ... someone really needs to wake up and re-evaluate some of these weird decisions they've made.
I agree! I think they were a little too quick to make the merge. I'm sure there were financial reasons to expedite, but it could have been thought through a bit better.
Send some email to Sirius. Let them know. Who knows if it will make a difference, but it's worth a shot.

Was it Liquid Todd's Zero + Ones show? I think that used to be on Left of Center, if I remember correctly. Not sure why they moved it to Alt Nation if that is the case.
It might be. I couldn't stand to listen to it for more than 5 minutes but it sounded like they were taking current alt songs and turning them into techno songs.
I might have to. I don't mind specialty shows, but you don't put one that varies so much from the station's main format in such a valuable time slot...
Yeah. This is ones and zeros. I love the show actually. It really could go on Alt. Nation or Left of Center. I actually think it could fit in better on SXMU but the unmixed songs are played on Alt. Nation and SXMU so I certainly understand why they put it on Alt. Nation.
Boombox was an awesome station and it kind of sucks they got rid of it but whatever. I'm happy ones and zeros is kind of taking over for it.
Excatly and the original poster is probably right....it doesn't make sense and they should just rbing Boombox back! Shame with the disco channel rather than two blocks of music on the 70s and 80s channel which PLAY ON THE SAME DAY AND SAME TIME!
If I remember correctly, way back in '03 or '04, The Liquid Todd Show was originally on Alt Nation.

It is the old Zeroes and Ones show that use to be on Left of Center. It used to be a great show when it was a lot more Indie/ Rock oriented before the merger. Now it plays the techno-boombox rock. It was much better before.
