it's cool the remake of 'the day the earth stood still' is coming out soon...looks good but trailers have a way of doing that don't they

how about a remake of 'the passion of the christ' where jesus kicks ass!

Timeless classics?!? ;)

I wasn't actually thinking of Star Wars in the coment, just movies in general.

But even if I was, I would have been thinking of the first Star Wars (A New Hope) forgetting that it was actually #4 and not #1. #1 is definatly NOT a timeless classic.

Star Wars IV, A New Hope (1977).

That light saber duel between Darth Vader and Obi-Wan should have been a g.d. throwdown, not two senior citizens swatting each other with broom handles.

None. If a movie was good, it's good enough to watch as-is. If it wasn't good, don't bother remaking it. You can't polish a turd.

I was 7 when that movie came out. I thought that was the greatest fight scene ever. The first thing I wanted for Christmas that year was a lightsaber. I got one. It was nothing but a plastic tube with a flashlight attached to it...:p

You're right, though. They really need to just redo at least episode IV. And Luke needs to be about 12yo, not 21...:right:
