Been looking for some games to play and in reading reviews, I keep finding people labeling things as "the greatest game ever" so it got me thinking as to what IS the greatest games you've ever played. Any console, any era.

Here is my list:

Nintendo: Super Mario 3 or Metroid. Can't pick.

Sega Genesis: Mortal Kombat

PS: Resident Evil

PS2: Resident Evil 2 or Silent Hill.

Xbox: Splinter Cell

Wii: Marvel Ultimate Alliance

Out of all of these, I would say my all time favorite is Resident Evil 2. I thought that was the greatest, scariest, funnest game I have ever played. Plus, it took a while.

The original EverQuest, before Sony started listening to whining gamers and mucked it all up.

What platform is this on? PS? PS2?

You know what else I miss in games? The Classic Sidescroller. Most Nintendo games were like this and I kind of miss this. Contra, all the Mario Brothers Games, Castlevania and of course, Metroid (sort of).

Don't get me wrong, I love the 3D games but sometimes I'd like to pop in a new sidescroller and just beat the different levels.

You know what, I went to rent this today and it was out. I thought it would give us something to do over the long days with no work for me and no school for the kids.

We rented the New Lego Indiana Jones Game instead. My son really liked the first one and I didn't even know they came out with a 2.

My only problem with the new mario brothers is that it looks like it is a real multiplayer game and damnit, I like playing games bymyself to just chillax. I like just sitting there, staring at the tv and button mashing away. I'm not opposed to playing a game with others but I prefer to play by myself.

Atari and NES are the only game systems I've ever had.

Favorite games are Super Mario Brothers 3, The Legend of Zelda, Contra, and Mike Tyson's Punch-Out.

Did anybody else have this game for the NES?

GOLGO 13?

I loved this game as a kid but it was just so hard that I could never beat it. I got to Greece but could never get any farther.

Okay, you'll get me started here and I won't know where to end.

But when it comes to gaming, I am old school, for sure. Megaman Series on NES and even the X series on SNES and on is good. Mario 3 is my Favorite Mario platformer/2d platformer, HOWEVER, New super mario bros Wii is close behind it. NSMB Wii is essentially the very very best elements of SMB3 for NES mixed with Mario World for SNES, and some new stuff thrown in. but everything from the music, level designs, and boss battles harkens back to NES Mario 3. I love this game.

Outside of that stuff, and all my Nintendo nerdyness, I like FPS's. CoD:World at war Reflex for Wii is currently getting played right now, and I like The Conduit as well. For DS, I am all about GTA chinatown wars lately.

Thats a hard one to pick just one. If I go all time as a child the most fun I had was playing Battletoads and Double Dragon for the NES, with my friend or with my brother. Trying to beat that game all the way through in one sitting was a challenge back in the day

In my day, you had to EARN extra lives! HuH! Now they just give em to ya for nothin.

Or, ya had to keep a pen and paper handy because you might have to WRITE down a 16 digital passcode!!! Now everything is just willy nilly saved the cheap way.
