What is the best FM transmitter?

I have a Starmate 5 and recently got a Stratus 6. I have been using a Xact XTR1 in the house and it has broadcasted great (via its FM transmitter) to my bedroom area. However, the Starmate 5 and Stratus 6 FM transmitters are post FCC requirments so they essentially suck. I am therefore looking to get a whole house FM transmitter to use with the Stratus 6 and Starmate 5 for when I want to use either in the house.

Upon doing some research, I have found two popular ones that have been mentioned several times here on these forums. The C.Crane and the "Whole House Transmitter" that I have seen sold by TSS. I read how the C.Crane's transmitting distance can be "hacked" & user adjusted, but it seems like the WHT transmits farther to being with.

Any opinions and/or experiences with either of these units? Some others I have seen and would consider as well are the following:

I have a feeling the Pyle one is probably not of great quality, but the other two additional ones seem to be in about the same price range as the C.Crane and WHT so maybe they are decent as well.

Just wondering what some others have had experiences with.

I looked into that LineX model, but unfortunately its a battery only model. Can't even plug in my own universal AC adapter. I don't want to keep changing batteries; even if they might last 2+ weeks at a time. I would rather just be able to plug it in and be done with it. Then not have to worry about it & just transmit throughout the whole house.

I've heard good things about the Whole House Transmitter though so maybe I'll go that route. After reading some more about the Ramsey FM transmitter, it looks like you have to assemble them and it involves some soldering. I definitely don't want to mess around with that possible headache.
