With mobile devices being almost the norm these days, I thought it would be interesting to see what headphones/earbuds you use to accompany these devices?

I found myself to be a Skullcandy guy... two pairs of the Ink'd earbuds (this color and green)

and a set of the Lowriders...

I really dig the earbuds. They come with different sized "gummies" to fit into your ear. They fit great and sound even better AND come with lifetime warantee.

I had a slight issue with one set of buds and Skullcandy replaced them no questions asked and the process was super easy.

So, what are you guys and gals rockin?

ipod buds, which suck. Im looking for some replacement buds, and really looking forward to seeing everyone's choices. (skull candy is on the list of possibilities, but im not real fond of how far they stick out, or the colors ive seen.)
and of course my trusty, well traveled, sony full covers I mentioned in the amp thread. MDR-V600.

A few things:

  • The Ink'd buds come in silver and/or white if you don't like the other options.
    * The new green color is different than their old green color - I don't know if that effects the other color schemes.
    * Don't be fooled, they don't stick out that far, as far as I can tell.
    * If you look at SkullCandy's in the store, I've seen the earbuds for as much as $40. Online retailers sell them for closer to $10.
    * I actually got them at FYE around Christmas for around that price, including the Lowriders - that's why I have 3 pairs of SkullCandy's

I have some Bose Quiet Comfort 2's which sound good, but I don't really like over the ear headphones. I actually prefer earbuds and I like the ones that go down in the ear canal, I think they gave the best sound and noise reduction. However, with that said I actually rarely use them unless I am mowing the grass, washing the car or working around outside. If I am in the house I much prefer jamming on my iKick Boombox. I have used my earbuds at various times when I wanted to hear music and it was not appropriate to hear it aloud.

I purchased the Z-buds from Zagg and they sound great!

Very nice taste! I'm not quite up to snuff compared to that!!

What made you pick the QC 2's?

Honestly! They were a Christmas gift from my son about 3 years ago. I doubt I would have bought them for $300, but I guess he loves the OLE man! LOL

Hehe, I suppose he does. Are they really all they're made out to be? I mean, Bose (sound) quality is pretty well known...

I hate earbuds. Crazy to me. It's poor-quality sound, IMO.

In my home I've been using full-sized headphones, Sennheisers.

I'm looking for replacements that have the speaker for the iPhone when I get a call. The buds aren't bad (I put cloth covers on mine to keep them in my ears) but I would like something a lot better. Although better usually means pricier.

Yeah they do sound great, but my issue with them in fact with all over the ear headphones is that my ears get hot. LOL I do enjoy them occasionally, I especially make sure I use them when he is around! I do prefer listening to music via open air from my kick ass home theater system to me that sounds the best.

Those look slick are the over are on the ear?

Clearly you've never used any good earbuds if you think the sound quality is poor.

In my home I have no reason to use headphones, I just turn up the Jam and enjoy! LOL :)

Please elaborate on the Z.Buds from Zagg. I've been considering these for some time due to the great cord management but was in the dark on how they sounded.

How is the bass? mids? Highs? Are they better than Sennheiseer CX300 or Vmoda Vibe's?

Sadly, I'm rockin' a beautiful $5 set of Koss brand headphones that I found at Wal-Mart. My ears deserve better, lol. :icon_eek:

But they do feature a convenient volume control knob that I like. :)

Ya know what, amazingly enough, that's one god damned feature I wish pricier headsets would come with.

GAGH!!! :idea::bluemusic:

For about $10, you could get some comfy gummy Skullcandy Ink'd buds. Your ears will thank you.
