Just listening to the howie Mandel interview. Near the end they are talking about traveling and not having to go to the bathroom in new york, and Howie was saying something and i got dumped. Then Howard said "I dumped it" and Howie replied something like "oh, you dont have to dump it. Do you? did it get dumped?" and Howard just said "I think so. I think I got it in time. I didn't have to? oh. Well it got dumped"

I wonder what it was?

Maybe they mentioned someone's name. Maybe he ran into someone famous. Who even knows anymore.

Something must've happened a while back where they enforced tougher rules or something.

They have to say allegedly every ten seconds, they can't say "nigger" or "fag."

Yesterday Sal revealed that they can't say "nigger" anymore and they sure as hell can't say "fag."

When they merged they had to also adopt certain rules that the FCC enforces on regular radio. But I love how they never talk about this on the air.

My favorite was Johnny Fratto calling in:

Johnny: Howard, I was so mad I could kill the guy.

Howard: Johnny c'mon you don't really wanna kill someone. You're just joking right.

Johnny: Yeah.

What kinda bullshit is that? What fun is a joke if you have to throw in five "allegedys" any time you say something.

He is trying to protect himself from libel (or is it slander?). That has nothing to do with FCC indecency regulations. And it is simply not true that they had to adopt FCC language standards as part of the merger, that's why they have never talked about it. In any case, the FCC has NEVER had any problems with racial or gay slurs. If they can't say nigger or fag then it's most likely just what Howard wants since he seems to have become more sensitive to those words in the last 5 years or so. And he's just protecting Johnny when he says stuff like that. If he doesn't say it was just a joke, it's possible that Johnny could be dinged for making threats against whoever he was talking about. Arrests have been made for similar statements made on SFN a few years back. People take threats seriously these days.

they can say the N word if they want. I mean they say it on shade 45 all the time. so its definitely not a rule that sirius has put on them. 50 cent says it all the time on bubba's show too. well at least on the friday ones.

Exactly. If Johnny says something, even if it is "just a joke" as long as the target feels dangered, he could have grounds for a court case. It's not censorship, as much as it is covering one's ass.

Yeah, but 25 is different. Black people can say that stuff. (On a sidenote, Bubba's been going berzerk because Cox is censoring the "n word" off his terrestrial show, even when 25 says it.)

What?! People really care that much about what is said to them on a message board where they feel the need to call police?

Apparently. I don't remember the details but it was all over H100 news. You can't threaten people publicly, even if the public place is as stupid as SFN.

actually its not cox censoring it, its their miami affiliate who's having a fit about that word. and since they have been tanking horribly in the ratings in miami, its kinda like this one affiliate has them over the barrel. if they had good ratings down there, they could tell that affiliate to f*ck themselves tho.

As ProperModulation says, it's true. I'm a member of a non-Howard board and from what I had heard, someone made a threat against a president. The message was somehow discovered by federal authorities (Secret Service?) and I had heard the guy was arrested/questioned/whatever. Either way, it wasn't good.
