My wife actually yelled at me today about this. She unloaded on me saying that I'm the hardest person in the world to buy for because I'm not into anything, I don't like any of the clothes she buys me and I don't ever watch any movies or anything that she gets me.

So, it got me thinking, what do I want for Christmas this year and this is what I came up with:

I want her to write down the following and put it in a box: I promise to leave you the f alone for an entire Saturday or Sunday. Also, you are completly removed from engaging in any contact with your mother in law for 6 months and your presence is not required at any Sunday dinners for the first quarter of the year.

This, for me, would be better than any blu-ray disc, any shirt, anything.

So what do YOU want for Christmas this year?

Hyson, I got enough Tshirts. I've got enough nice, button up shirts and I've got enough pullovers. I've got enough sweaters, enough nice pants for work and I've got enough golf shirts. I've got enough socks (although in my fantasy world, I open a new pair of socks everyday, wear them once and then throw them away--nothing better than puttin on a nice new pair of Gold Toes!!!), I've got enough shoes--far too many shoes actually as I've been on a real shoe buying tear lately. I've also got enough casual clothes, enough khakis, enough jeans. I'm not into power tools nor am I into hunting or anything that requires a lot of accessories. I don't have hobbies like woodworking or any sh!t like that and her buying me a drill or something would be like me buying her a new ironing board--not acceptable. We don't watch that many movies anymore with all the kids running around so the last thing I need is a copy of the Departed on Blu-ray.

Just shield me from her family and give me a weekend to do whatever the F I please and I will be a happy man.

If you need some alone time, why not just ask for it?

I want a Droid phone, I think. Super Mario Bros. Wii would be fun.

I'm hard to shop for, but my wife is cool about it. She has a knack for figuring out stuff I love but never knew existed, like a set of Jeff Koons coffee mugs. I use those every damned day.

the wife and I are just doing a quick trip to vegas a couple days after christmas. presents are too hard once you get older. if we want something we just get it (within reason of course). we bought a house this year so christmas funds are lower than normal, so all our family and friends might just be getting cookies or something from us this year. we'll probably do a little splurging on the little kids in the immediate family though.

(having said all that, what I really do want is a kickass lithium ion cordless drill since my Craftsman is finally taking a dump on me... :))

Don't think I we will ask each other for much here beside little things clothing and such, we bought a new laptop 6 months ago and just went and bought another new one last night so I think they can be our big gift, not including the PS3 we bought 3 months ago too..

Ahhhh that is a little depressing now to think about...
