Howard is VERY upset over his Rock Hall speech being edited.

He is warning you with peace and love that he will NOT be speaking for any event which will be edited. No more speeches to be edited and no more red carpets.

Howard is a master of self-ridicule yet he has this inflated opinion of his scripted bits. Maybe it's because his self-ridicule is not scripted. Today he described his Rock and Roll Hall of Fame speech as "nuanced". I admit I could not bear to listen to it because of what I have read here and what I saw him do over and over again on talk shows. His prepared bits are generally not nuanced. They are generally blunt and crude. He feels the need to raise his voice (yell) and be outrageous a la Don Imus. Yet when he riffs with Robin (and in the Golden Age when he riffed with Robin and Artie) he is truly nuanced and truly my genius. How can there be these two Howards?

Jackie Martling and Ronnie Mund also deliver crude, dumbed-down humor, but they officially suck, so Howard can spend years ripping them apart. I don't see all that much difference between them and this. I heard that Howard spent an extended amount of time making a Jan/John joke, which got cut. I mean, c'mon. He really can't imagine that his scripted speeches are just tasteless, pointless, and juvenile. No, it can't be. So the editor has to be the problem. Yes, the editor is just some brainless kid.

I'm sure there could've been a more clever way to work much of his ideas into the speech, so that it wouldn't have gotten cut. But Howard doesn't do "clever" for public appearances.

A fair amount of people will skip over the Joan Rivers talk. The good news is that it's only about 20 minutes.

As soon as I heard him say "Robin, can you believe it's been 35 years since Joan Rivers first appeared on the show?" I said to myself "of course I can believe that", and then I skipped ahead.

Howard's unhappiness about the editing of his "nuanced" Hall of Fame speech was on the internet today. If I were he I would keep a low profile on this one. If enough real critics listen to it and trash it he will be ranting until the next vacation. Good for us I guess.

It came up last year, that the entire thing should be on PPV. Make it afforable, say $20 or $30, but they can show the whole thing there.

Then, chop it up for HBO.

Of course, last year was the year the Pearl Jam fans turned it into a mini-show and gobbled up all the tickets insanely fast so there weren't any dropping in price and then they put the whole thing on the Periscope app. :D

Creepy porn clips are creepy...and then Howard went into the impression of his mom.
