Howard was live today. Ronnie reviewed the huge dildo.

Villanova (in Philadelphia) is looking like they'll roll to victory...anyone want to guess what tomorrow's show will have?? :D

    Wait...is this really new content?

I was sort-of on board with Kathy Griffin for a while, but then she lost me with her trashing of Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen. Of course, I think her photo was more inappropriate and serious than she seems to think, and I have less sympathy for her than she thinks she deserves. But she was an entertaining guest for a while.

But she's completely nuts about Anderson and Andy. So Anderson Cooper went on-air and condemned the photo, and that surprised her? Really? The guy's career involves covering the news in a (somewhat) neutral and level-headed manner. It's pretty easy to see why he had to say something, but not for Kathy.

And then she trashed Andy Cohen for absolutely no reason, said he was talentless, and that his 11pm show was only popular because it benefits from the lead-in programming. Ha! He created and produced the lead-in programming, he's the creator and head of the entire Bravo network. He's not just some guy they hired to do a half-hour show every so often. She really burned a lot of bridges, in my opinion.

Compared to most other news and talk people (Wolf Blitzer, Rush Limbaugh, most of Fox, most of MSNBC) he keeps an even tone.

Cooper isn't a bad guy. CNN/msnbc get slammed, as does fox but it's hard to slam cooper. I guess you can go the gay way if you're a gay basher. Where was howard thoughts on Ted Nugent yesterday? Ingrahm gets slammed but during the news he didn't say a word. He actually just avoided it.

I think Howard would have something to say about Nugent, maybe he just wanted to go home. As for Laura Ingraham, he both called her scum, and gave her a pass. He said that she was just doing what her employer hired her to do.

Wow, I'm shocked that anyone on THSS actually knows who she is. I've never heard mention of her name.

I agree with all of this. While I don't think she is right, I can understand her anger at Cooper for saying anything at all because she thought a friend should defend her or at least say nothing. But of course that's wrong cause like you said he is a newsman and that was major news. He had to talk about it.

Bashing Cohen is a weird move. Even if she feels he wronged her, which is silly, it would probably be best to not say anything because they have the same target demo and right now Kathy needs all the supporters and fans she can get.

And this is a great point. It's a laughably stupid attack.

Still, I look forward to hearing her side of things. It really is a fascinating journey. First she probably thought it was an edgy photo that would get just a little blowback, then it blew up and pretty much ruined her so she made a weeping apology, then a couple months later she is no longer sorry and lashing out at anyone around her. It's a good case study on how not to handle a controversy.

Or so I saw elsewhere. Don't flip out if I'm wrong, as we usually don't usually find these things out until a wack packer announces them.

MarksFriggin used to have a list, but that dried up....or else he got tired of having the big wack packer event on there that Howard mentioned today as somebody dropping the ball on.

You're right, Brandi will be on today's show. But Howard is already fucking it up. He's promoting her as if she is a new artist, despite the fact that her breakthrough album charted in 2007. And he keeps talking about her ability to perform covers of popular songs. In fact, she'll be doing a Crosby Stills & Nash cover, because Howard doesn't think that anyone's ever heard of her.

I need to vent about this interview.

Howard said "I've put together a whole concert of your YouTube videos", and then he lists only cover songs in his "concert".

Ten minutes in, and all he's asked about is her cover of Helplessly Hoping.

Howard: "Nobody does harmonies anymore". Yeah, so bands like Fleet Foxes and Fun don't exist.

Howard: "Is singing and being in a band nervewracking?" WTF?

"I heard your mom was a musician. Did you teach yourself to perform so you can win her love?"
"Is it hard for your mom to see your success?"

"Why have I not heard of you, before I saw you on Jimmy Kimmel?" What the hell kind of question is this to ask a successful musician?

That question makes it sound like she's only in there because Howard saw her on Kimmel...a very weird one for him to ask.

I must say Kathy Griffin kept me listening this time. She did not have to fake being persecuted. Trump is in full dictator mode... punishing people he does not like with through government agencies. So she held up a fake bloody Trump head... yes bad taste .. but not a threat... something protected by the 1st Amendment in my opinion.

This week's shows have made me laugh out loud pretty hard twice this week.

The first one was some well-placed Ronnie samples pretending to be Sumner Redstone's pre-recorded responses. "Mister Redstone, what about the CBS/Viacom merger?" "Beep boop fuck you!"

The second one was 'Sarah Huckabee Sanders' calling in about Stormy Daniels. "Maybe in Obama's America, you don't fuck a porn star ... buttercup". #sendyoubacktojewistan

(What I heard of) the Kathy Griffin interview was pretty good, despite me not being a fan of hers at all and thinking the severed head photo was a stupid idea (and disgusting) plus feeling no sympathy for the public response she got to that photo (Trump/governmental-response being a different beast).

(What I heard of) the Brandi Carlisle interview was really good, though @scotchandcigar makes a good point that some of H's questions/comments are bad. Her responses definitely kept me listening.

It was nice that she was a longtime listener of the show, and she definitely soldiered-through all the questions like a trooper. And as expected, her performance was awesome.
