How can we post a link to a video without it trying to embed said video? Here is an example link that won't work. Take out the spaces before the .com and kkco to see what happen when you try to post the entire link.

I have the same problems, I don't even know how to show a video off of you tube here. I tried it before at SBS and had no luck, but one time I was able to do it and I can't remember since!

I'll look into a way of selectively disabling embedding videos, but as of right now I don't think there is a way with the embedding mod we are using.

WolfViper:
To embed a youtube video... go to youtube, find the video that you want to embed. Once on the video's page just copy and paste the URL in the address bar of your browser. The forum software will find any links to video sites and automagically parse them into what you see. No [tags][/tags] or anything needed.

I tried putting text in the post and adding a link to the text but that didn't work either. Maybe that could be the clue to not embed it?

OK, I want back to my thread and it fixed itself. It seemed to work by adding the link to the text.

I went back to my thread and tried it out and works now.

Thanks for your help Dan!

I have a similar problem..... I've placed the url into my post but when you select it, it states that it is no longer available. If I go to YouTube the video is still there. If I paste the url into the address field it works was well. What do I need to do to get videos to work? I can't find anything in the FAQ about this.

Thanks

At the current time it isn't possible to selectively embed the videos, it's an all or nothing proposition. But I've also ran into where they have disabled external embedding, in that case just click on the link above the video area and it should take you to the original page.
