Monty Python Radio, a 24/7 limited-run channel devoted to, and hosted by, the iconic British comedy troupe, takes over Laugh USA from Friday, October 16 through Sunday October 25. Launching the day after the stars receive a lifetime achievement award from The British Academy of Film and Television Arts at the Ziegfeld Theater in New York City, the channel will run for ten full days on SIRIUS Ch. 105 and XM Ch. 151 featuring classic Python sketches, skits and, songs; fans calling in with requests; fans and celebrities telling favorite sketches and Python memories; and various members of the original Python troupe reminiscing and talking of new projects.

Tune in to a special limited engagement channel to hear classic Monty Python sketches, skits and songs from the Flying Circus television show and classic Python albums including Holy Grail, Contractual Obligation Album and Matching Tie & Handkerchief.

Not a review yet, but an observation......

I'm listening right now (1:30 mst) and it's the fans show with Mark Says Hi, the same guy you always hear on blue collar and raw dog. I have never had a problem with on the other channels, but in this role, he stinks. I don't know if he is trying too hard and being extra cheesy, but it's just annoying. You can tell that they told him he had to do it, and he is out of his element. /endrant

My Review!

I am a big Python Fan, from the Circus, movies, and even Spamalot. I listened off and on all week. It was great to hear some the routines again, some didn't translate very well from tv to radio (et al. ministry of silly walks). It was good in small doses like an hour or two, and I quit listening today when I started hearing repeats. Overall, I enjoyed most of it (see my post above), and for a limited run, it was just the right amount of time. Five stars.

I listened on the first day and I really enjoyed it. It would be nice to have it around a little longer. I hope that sometime in the future and can bring it back and keep it around for a while

It wasn't so bad. I listened for a few hours.
I do like the visuals from TV though.
The Ministry of Silly Walks doesn't translate as well on radio if you know what I mean.

I agree with your eval... It really is a visual comedy format... I did nt get much benefit when i tried to listen...

Same for the Dead Parrot sketch - funny to listen to, but even funnier when you add in some of the visuals.
