With apologies for sounding like a "shill", I would like to highlight a reference to DRC's sponsor, TSS Radio, which should be of interest to satellite radio listeners in Canada.

I just listened to TSS Radio Podcast 6 and Jimmy said that Canadians can now avoid the high US shipping costs as they can ship from Canada. This is Great News! Those who have discovered the benefits of satellite radio in Canada may also have noticed that beyond a narrow range of retail products, it is hard to do more with satellite radio without looking south for the necessary parts and accessories. Shipping charges have been a real dis-incentive to ordering, particularly smaller items, from the US to Canada.

I hope our sponsor can share details about this new Canadian shipping initiative here on DRC.

That's fantastic news! I just happen to need a new car antenna. Now I know where I'll buy it!

How does one trigger Canadian shipping? How do we know which goods are available in Canada and which ones aren't?

This is something very cool and it will get better. Sean spearheaded this. Here is what we have up at the Toronto Warehouse. If you order these or a combo of these items then you will be allowed to checkout and have it shipped from Toronto.
Products available for local delivery in Canada | TSS-Radio

We have a few Radios up there now and those will be visible once we launch the TSS-Radio.ca website, which isn't up now.

I'm going to be sending up some more goodies soon like the following items. Tivoli Tabletop Radio, Refurbished FM Direct Adapter. Refurbished Sportster Replay and Home Kit, Soloist, XMp3, XMp3 Car Kit, Home Signal Dist Kit, and Cable Dist Kit.

If you want something else up there then just let me know. taylor@tss-radio.com

Do you still bill in US$ or can I use my CAD credit cards? I need to know which credit card to use.

ETA: I see both things I have been considering already in the list (ant headphones, battery).
ETA2: I didn't use your site very well. I thought the left hand tabs pointed to stuff you had in Canada too. So I have been eyeing SL2 Antenna Headphones and a SL2 replacement battery. Any chance of one or both of those making their way to Canada?

When we have the TSS-Radio.ca site up it will use Paypal both thru email or CC payment and show amounts in CAN Dollars. I will send both of those items up to the Canada Warehouse. I think they will sell decent.

Getting those products up there should be a week or two. But Sean is doing the TSS-Radio.ca website and I'm not sure exactly how much more work needs to be done. But to order those products you won't need the TSS-Radio.ca site, I just have to get the SL2 Antenna Headphones and SL2 Battery up there.

I will be excited to hear your feedback on the order process.

Let me know when they are up there. I am 100% I will be buying the headphones and about 80% the battery.

I received my first order, shipped from Oakville, Ontario by FedEx - very quickly. The estimated arrival date when I ordered on the website was accurate.

Now we can get the parts we need to access satellite radio where, when and how we want to in Canada, I hope we can do something about the programming with Sirius and XM still operating as two different companies here.

I'm glad the process went smooth for you. It's a bit tough for me because we don't have quite as much control since it's an outsourced Warehouse doing the job. But it's out of Oakville, so sounds pretty close to you.

There are some products that have a lot more demand in Canada for us, like the SIRGM2 and the SIRGM1.

Sirius Canada does a great job doing what they do. In a lot of ways I think they are a step ahead marketing wise than SIRIUS XM. Are you a SIRIUS Canada customer or a SIRIUS US customer?

It has been my experience that both Sirius Canada and XM Canada seem to be doing what Sirius-US and XM-US should have been doing all along. Unfortunatly, they have overpriced their products and that along with CRTC sillyness has driven a lot of Canadian customers to the grey market.
