We are all pretty vocal about what or who we DONT like. But what do you like about this addiction?

1. The feeling you get standing down next to the fence on the infield at Talladega when they get up to speed! Almost as goos as...................well you know!

2. Meeting new people while camping at the track.

3. The charities the drivers do are also pretty cool regardless of your favorite driver.

The roar I get at Richmond and Bristol is music to my ears. I'm 3 rows up on the front stretch at Richmond, so I get a good roar :yesshake: I've never camped out at a Nascar event but I hear its a blast.

A friend of my dad's got me started by taking me to races at an early age. I've made a lot of friends at tracks and had a lot of great saturday nights.

Now with the net it's fun to hang out and chat and/or get the latest news right away. (Jeez, I just realized I've had net access since '96! That was like, yesterday!:D )

There's nothing like attending a race. From the trip there to the trip home, it's something new each time. I camp @ each of the races that I go to so I always notice all of the RVs going in the direction that I am. Most everyone's RV or vehicle are displaying what driver that they are rooting for so it's easy to tell who to draft with on the way there. It doesn't matter if you're camping at the track or in a local campground, it's always easy to make new friends. Outside of the race itself, I think the best part is the camping and partying with new people. :yesshake:

That's one thing I've not done.....camp at the track. That would be a blast.

I've often had this fantasy that if I won the lotto I'd get an RV and go to every race for one season.

My other fantasy is going back in time and following Zeppelin around on their '72 tour.

We started by tent camping at the track. Not the best way to camp but there were allot of 'good times' going to the track that way! We got a popup when we started taking the kids. Around four years ago, we got a 30' trailer & it's great! Except for the gas. At some point we're going to go with a fiver' after I get a new tow vehicle. I don't know what it is like to go to a race and stay in a hotel/motel but I know I'd never give up the camping experience. People that were total strangers years ago are now are friends and we see them year after year. It's a blast! :yesshake:

Oh, I'm sure. Me and the wife LOVE to camp. There's nothing like being outdoors around the fire under the stars. :yesshake:

We started the same way, tent and air matress. Although it was a blast, I hope I NEVER have to sleep on a dang air matress again! We have a 30' also, nothing like gettin all setup and walking out and smelling the campfires in the morning. I too have said that about winning the lottery and making all the races. That would be awesome!

What tracks to you go to and which ones do you camp at the track? If you stay at other campgrounds, which ones?

Just thought if your at the same we're at, perhaps you want to share an adult beverage?

We go to......

Bristol - We camp @ Hungry Mother State Park when the kids are with us, the track when they are not.

Dover - We camp @ the Delaware State Fairgrounds when the kids are with us, the track when they are not.

Richmond - We camp @ Pocahontas State Park with or without kids. To long of a waiting list and to expensive at the track.

Occasionally to......

Pocono - We camp @ a state park just west of the track. I don't remember the name.

Charlotte - We camp @ the track behind turn two.

Martinsville - We camp @ a state park just north of the track with kids, the track without.

Michigan - We camp @ the track. Not my favorite track but a race is a race!

Watkins Glen - We camp @ the track.

Bristol - Stayed at Bristol Campground this year.

Talladega - We have stayed all over, usually cause we wait till the last minute to make plans.

If freight picks up next year, we're gonna try to make Charlotte I think.
