David was asking about when there was a team swap that was actually succesful. Well I do know that RCR has done this with Harvick once before. Didnt they do this in 2002 with Robby Gordon's team?

The most successful team swap ive ever heard of was when Roush switched Mark Martin's team with Kurt Busch's team before 2002. Both teams were winless the previous year and missed the top 10, the next year they both won races and challenged for the championship.

Yes, RG and KH swapped back in 2002. Harvick went on to spin & win at Chicagoland...

Kurt Busch went on to win 3 races in the last 7 (or so) of the 2002 season. Mark would have won that championship had he had not gone a lap down before the Talladega race because his steering locked up and he steered into Jimmie Johnson...:worried:

For those how don't remember, JJ was leading the points going into Talladega. The qualifying was rained out so him and MM started at the front of the field.

There was no caution during that race, so neither JJ or MM were able to make up their lap, so they both finished a lap down. Tony Stewart lead the points after finishing 2nd to Jr, and went on to win that championship.

Actually Semi, Mark would have had a better shot at the championship that year had he not had a flat tire in that Talladega race. The race eventually came down to feul mileage at the end thanks to the smaller tank. Mark was able to make it all the way even though he was a lap down, but he had a flat which put him out of sequence and forced him to make an extra stop which put him 2 laps down at the end instead of 1.

I forgot about that. I remember coming in just before the green flag and wondering why JJ and MM were not up front...
