This explains all the delay tactics Mayfield and his attorneys tried to pull the day of the test. It sure looks like he knew he would fail this test. But hey, like Semi stated. "hes toast". sums it up nicely.

Jeremy's on The Late Shift right now

Thanks for the heads up. I only heard the last three minutes or so. It was not enough for me to form an opinion on what he had to say. What did you think, those of you that heard what he had to say?

Semi, what did he say?

Im hearing Buddy talk about it right now and he seems pretty down. Saying things like, "It looks like his career as a driver is over"

Damn Nate Ryan is hosting this show. Now I wish I would have caught it.

Edit: Oh wow, apparantly Jeremy said he took 2 other tests and implied that Nascar rigged the test to make an example out of him. He also said those 2 tests he took independently will yield different results.

SubmarineMike..... So you obviously listened to it. What could/would NASCAR have to gain by him or any other driver to test positive for a banned substance? I just can't fathom why NASCAR would pursue this if it were not as it appears.

I caught the last 45 seconds. Mayfield's argument that nascar claims a zero tolerance policy yet also claims that there have been other positive test results is flawed thinking. I'm sure there have been many other people in nascar that have tested positive, FOR DOCTOR PRESCRIBED MEDICATIONS. Has Mayfield produced documentation that he is under doctors care for methamphetamine's? I've not heard or read anything that indicates he has.

Nascar has nothing to gain from doing that. If it ever came out they rigged a sample, it would be damn near as bad as finding out they rigged a race. The faith in them would be shattered beyond repair with the competitors, media, and fans.

Jwell France said they had positive samples all the time and he thinks by aking an example of him they spare their big stars.. there is a lot more but there will be articles written on it. Couple guys from scenedaily.com have already tweeted that Jeremy was on the radio and they listened. They will write about it for sure.

That is exactly one of the points that baffles me. How does Mayfield testing positive 'spare their big stars'? I guess I'm thick as hell because I just don't get it.

Thanks for the heads up on that too! I think that I am just going to wait for the replay of 'Late Shift' on my way to work tomorrow.

Canada Eh!
I was kinda in Mayfields corner until now. Its just getting too damn strange. All I know is that if I was a drug addict I'd probably claim my employer rigged the test as well. It kinda seems like grasping at straws to me at this point.
However I didn't hear the interview I'm just going by what was said here......

I didn't listen to the whole, thing. I was in and out of the truck.

I'm sure they'll play the whole thing for the next day or so :)

Mayfield also said he doesn't intend to ever race again because he knows what will happen if he does. he is claiming that by NASCAR doing this to him for a positive drug test(even though he claims it was for that mix of a prescribed drug and claritin D)that they then have validated tehir drug policy. There have been 2 major drug testing entities (one is teh group that tests those that do the professional cycling like Lance Armstrong does) that say NASCARS policy is a joke. Listen to whole thing at 930 it is telling if Jeremy is indeed telling the truth
