So.....

Three more bite the dust yesterday. Anyone keeping count on this?

How foolish do you have to be to continue to use drugs or even attempt it for you first time if you're involved in NASCAR? Seriously, NASCAR institutes a drug policy and announces that they will be performing random testing and guys continue to get busted. Add Mike Hennessy, Gary St. Amant, & Richard Henninger to the list! Hopefully these guys can get the help they need and get back into the sport.

Canada Eh!
I wonder how
many of these guys are smoking weed during the week, thinking it won't show up and getting burned for it. I'm not saying it's ok to do so (especially in this type of job) but I doubt there are this many hard drug users in NASCAR.

I'd guess that's it as well but surely they can't be under the impression that it wouldn't show up or wouldn't be tested for.

This is the 'list' for crew members, (not drivers).....

Among the substances those participants must be tested for are:
- Seven different amphetamines, including methamphetamine and PMA, a synthetic psychostimulant and hallucinogen.
- Three drugs classified under ephedrine.
- 13 different narcotics, including codeine and morphine.
- Ten different benzodiazepines and barbituates.
- Marijuana, cocaine, zolpidem, nitrites, chromates and drugs that can increase specific gravity.

Listen I have been in the Navy for 21 years now and you still see folks pop positive for drugs here. We preach about zero tolerence all the time endless training on the subject etc etc...people will always be stupid.

There's a big problem with over-the-counter drug abuse and prescription drug abuse. Our society thinks there's a pill for everything.

If I'm at my mother's house and sneeze she'll bring out five different pills for me to choose from.

Yes, but I imagine the difference between you and them is that if you realized you were jeopardizing you entire career, you wouldn't take anything questionable.

Sure. My comment was more of a general comment. You can bet the farm I won't do anything to risk losing my job.
