You guys may have heard the section of the show today where Howard mentioned that Mark from marksfriggin.com refused to allow his daily show rundowns to be shortened for use on HowardStern.com.

Well, there was a little more to the story than that. You can read about it here if interested (very cool read):

MarksFriggin.com - Brush with Greatness

Marksfriggin has been a valuable resource to hardcore fans like myself over the years, and I just hope people don't consider him a douchebag after the way he was presented on the show today.

I used to read Mark all the time, when I couldn't hear all the show. But with sirius online, I hear the whole show now.

I did think he did a good job.

I check in with Mark's Friggin from time to time. Good for a quick Reader's Digest Synopsis of the Show.

The guy has always been totally forthright and quick to get back to ANY questions or requests I've ever had for him. Unlike the bottomless email pit where emails to the Howard Stern Show or to the Tapes Team at Sirius.

That's too bad that they don't get back to fans. I bet the have a lot of people who work there for this purpose (or since the merger, maybe not).

It's kind of always been this way. Either they get way too much in the way of emails to deal with or the people that work for free or perhaps next to nothing are not motivated into getting back to people.

I think this is a case where a bit of Howard's reputation for being cheap is getting the better of him, but again, I would say that there is truth in that reputation.

Marks Friggin' got me through several years when I wasn't able to listen at work. He has things updated almost in real time during the show. It's a bit of a bummer that the show can't make use of all his fine work.

Mark's Friggin... WE SPEAK YOUR NAME!

I used to catch his site when I didn't have Sirius, too. It was great. He often ignored the news, though. Not that what HowardStern.com does by sort of listing the stories is better. The news is all about the commentary. I mean, the other day when they went on with the Batman stuff was a great moment.

Mark seems like a great guy. I've conversed with him a couple of times and he has always been nice and fast to respond. I even contributed a short write up for a show he missed.

I'm with Mark on this one. Those cheap bastards want him to not only provide content for their website for FREE but they want the right to edit it. Amazing!
