Not only were the Buckeyes very impressive in their last 3 games leading to the National Championship, ironically, they got to play and take out the top three Heisman candidates:

Melvin Gordon in the B1G Championship
Amari Cooper in the Sugar Bowl Championship
Marcus Mariota in the National Championship

I know Ohio St would contend if they were put in the four school playoff. I know they'd be overlooked.

I'm no Buckeye fan, but you can't say they lucked into anything.

That's nothing but hard work & preparation.
