Hi, I just received my new Stiletto 100 from eBay but, the screen is not working, I contacted the seller and I’m waiting for the answer, the screen its dead with a few lines on the left side, when I touch the Wheel the screen flickers a bit. Also, I connected the radio to my PC and it was recognized, so in theory everything else is working…. Any suggestions?? I’m attaching a pic…

It's not likely that a broken screen will be fixed with an update. If you can operate it without it bothering you then it's ok. Otherwise I would really try to get another one. Does this ebay seller sell many or was this their own personal SL100?

I might be able to cut you a good deal on a Refurb SL100 Unit if you'd like.

thats why this site is so cool, having guys like you around. can never really trust ebay for somewhat pricy items. ive wanted to get a bluray player for awhile but im not feelin the min. $200 for a new one and i simply dont trust the cheap ones on ebay, no matter how much positive feedback the seller has. tss hooked me up with a kickass case for my sl2 and it will def. be the place i go to get the next sirius portable when ever it finally comes out. good stuff taylor.

You got screwed. I would immediately go on to ebay and file, I forget what it's called, a dispute I think, but it's like a complaint. Ebay then gives you 30 days to work it out amongst yourselves before they get involved to arbitrate the dispute. If you used PayPal, you are doubly insured, and you will get a refund. It might take a couple of months if teh seller is a fraud, but you will get a refund.

Also, here's what I would do.

TSS has already offered to get a you a great deal on a refurb. If you don't mind a refurb, go for it. They are a great company that has helped me in the past.

The refurb will be a radio only, so if you need a home dock and car dock, you can also get them at TSS. If you already have an antenna and/or a 5V power supply, you can save tons of $$ by just getting the dock, an other option TSS gives you.

When you total everything up, you save a lot compared to buying a new SL2, plus don't forget that a new SL2 usually does NOT include BOTH a home and car kit.

PS - Save all emails between you and the seller, and document all evidence, digital pics etc.. that the device is damaged and the damage was not declared on the sale. Burden of proof is on you. You will need to present your case if it ever goes to arbitration.

99% of the time, if the seller has a good ebay rating, he'll offer a full refund.
