I recorded Classic Rewind overnight last night. The SL2 was left on. I woke up around 5AM and noticed that I was about 8 seconds into the buffer. When I woke up the recording was still going but it showed that I was a full 60 minutes into the buffer. Once the recording stopped, I advanced the buffer to current. I checked the recording and I have a full 6 hours as scheduled.

What on earth will cause the SL2 to buffer?

I have no idea, I've seen this issue before myself. It is very strange, but does seem to happen on the SL2.

Yep, I've seen the buffer activate itself as well while recording. Usually it's only for a few minutes though - never as much as an hour. And while I record every Mon-Fri for 6 hours each day, I've only seen this mysterious buffer thing a few times.

I've had it for under a minute before. I figure it was just a blip in reception. When that happens the recording is usually either long or short by the same number of seconds. This was odd in that the recording was completely unaffected.

While we're discussing recording anomalies, how have everyone's memory corruption issues been?

The reason I bring this up again, is that for almost 2 months I had almost zero recording/memory problems (except the one day when, apparently, I along with lots of people had reception problems and mysteriously got NO recording, and had to get Stern later in the day with a replay). I was consistently running my memory up to between 70-80% - successfully holding up to 10 Stern shows. At the beginning of each week, I would just eliminate the oldest 5 shows, and then record Mon-Fr over again, getting back up to 10 shows before maunually deleting the oldest 5 once more.

Then last week the recorded shows on my S2 again started to go away, until I was down to ZERO recordings (like in the `old' days a couple of months ago). This week I can almost guarantee I'll start recording again - without doing a recovery nor reset and erase - and for some time will have no problems (even with as many as 10 shows saved).

Maybe with our current economy tanked (TY, GWB) this will be the first Xmas season that Sirius doesn't come out with a new and improved Stiletto. I was hoping I'd be able to upgrade once again this Dec. for a new Stiletto with some of the bugs fixed. Hopefully this mess of a merger with XM hasn't put fixes to the current receiver defects on the back burner completely.

You cant record?I can record anything off sirius with zero problems, unless I drive under a metal bridge, then it craps out for a second.

I have had no issues aside from the one here for quite some time. I have probably just jinxed myself.

I was thinking the same thing last week, IRBS, after such a great long spell of great performance. Oh well, now I'll just start over (again).

Thank god for that micro SD card - at least we don't lose everyrthing.

No problems for me, but I do keep my memory down to around 40% as this allows me to keep up to 2 episodes of the shows 7 or 8 shows I record each week. This also doesn't impact my automatically recording replays or my "LOVED" songs. I am using a lot more memory than 40% though it is just being used under the Replays and that doesn't get counted into the total. But I have dozens and dozens of hours of replays on a dozen or so channels.

Oh yeah, this happened to me too.
I had three Stern shows in library, with other stuff I was up to about 28% memory used.
Recorded all last weeks shows, it deleted older shows and kept only three most recent.
So, I recorded them all over again this weekend. Now they are ALL gone.
This just isn't right.
